before and after.

here are some before and afters for you to enjoy...or cringe over. Yes. It was a nightmare. It WAS as ugly, difficult and tear jerking as it may seem.
BUT I know I can say that it'll be worth it. Far more worth it than I can imagine at the moment and it seriously wouldn't be this beautiful or even have been possible without my mom and dad's help. And help is putting it lightly.

and looking at these photos...ick. I will be taking better updated shots soon. I hope to get some close ups of some of the details my dad added - like the open shelving on the far side of the island for recipe books, etc - the vintage glass knobs I got for the cabinets and free garage sale handles I got for the doors.

keep in mind that we've actually come a lot further than what is depicted in these photos. SO not too much further to go!
