all for a little boy...

who has no clue;)

soooo Homer's first birthday is exactly 25 days away! The planning process has begun! And it's gonna be a busy one! Jacob decided that we should have Homer's birthday party at our 'new' house. Nothing has been done over there..SO there will be a lot of cleaning being done over the next few weeks to prepare the house to be full of kids and family! Eeeekkkk!

on top of all that...I'm going to be starting a few homemade decorations and have already ordered a couple supplies to help make this party come to life!:)
I'm welcoming this list of To Do's. It's a great distraction from the fact that our little boy is going to be turning ONE so soon! The last year has seriously flown:)

i don't want to give too much away...but I don't think the 'theme' of his party will come as a shock to many of you;) Here is a sneak peek at our plans and possible gifts! I'll have more for you after the party on May 8th:)

1
balloons are needed and kids love them...and chew on them:/

2
i loveeeeee these and can't wait for there to be 10 kids...and probably a few adults...running around with these on!:) Photos will be taken!

3
here's the shirt we decided to go with. Nothing fancy. But perfect for Homer and Jacob loved it:)

4
don't ask me why...but the other day I picked up a jumbo bag of felt balls. I now haveeee to make some decorations out of them!;)

5
since the cookie cutters Jacob wanted were just too damn expensive - here - I decided to go with the adorable and much more affordable...cup cake liners:)

1
i've got a long list of posters I want - most off Etsy. I don't want to fill our house with Star Wars Posters but this is one of 5 that I want to purchase at some point:)

2
these are just awesome and Homer is gonna look supa' cool walking around in these this summer...that's if he ever decides to walk;) The bum is over 11 months old and still not walking yet:):)

3
i love this little piano. Besides the fact that it's cute and red...I really do want Homer to have a great love for music - like my friend:) We listen to music every day when we're home together and dance and sing (Homer and I...not my friend;)...I'd like to think he's already just as big a fan of CCR as his mama:)

4
this is an absolute must for Homer's birthday:) I've found soooo many on Etsy but they're far too expensive. I'm hoping my dad and I will be able to build something for Homer to wake up to on his birthday!!! I'll report back on how our homemade version turns out!:)

5
again...more music makers and a more affordable version of the piano:)

so many adorable things out there and again, trying not to go overboard just because it's Homer's Birthday...and ESPECIALLY because it's one he won't remember. But I think each birthday should be a great celebration...so why not:)

easter. grrrr.

i guesssss Easter is upon us. Blahhhhhh. Any one who knows me, knows that Easter and I are not pals. I blame this entirely on my parents;) I shouldn't even winky face that cause it's not funny (mostly not funny to me...I know they still laugh about it all these years later - evil bastards;).

POINT: i was never able to find my basket...no matter HOW easily the 'Easter Bunny' hid it. I have to admit...my poor attitude and lack of enthusiasm about the search probably didn't help anything but there you have. I hate Easter;)

SIDE NOTE: 2 years ago, Easter and my, beloved, Birthday landed on the same day...my worlds collided;)

this year will be Homer's FIRST Easter:) One of many firsts that we look forward to. Jacob and I have touched a little on the subject of Easter. Like...will we celebrate it??
Yeah...probably but we're gonna try to make it fun and a little more us and just see how things go as the years go on.

and now, the task of not over filling his basket:)

1
we'd like to include a book...we'd like our gifts to Homer to always include a book:) And maybe this time...a little kid-friendly explanation of what Easter means:)

2
jacob and I have both been obsessed with these shoes and really want them for Homer...I should wait till his birthday for something like this but seriously...too cute for waiting:)

3
i'm a lover of all wooden toys and I'm sure I'll regret adding a toy that will give me a headache later...but so cute and I'd love for Homer to loveeee love love music and making music:)

4
homer has a few little golfer hats but I was thinking this would be great for him this summer! Have I mentioned howwwww excited I am for SUN and Warm Weather and SUNNNNNN!!!!!!:):)

5
a little bunny friend. Obviously:)

6
super sale Yoda buckets!!! Great for Easter and will be a cute addition to his room:) - thanks for the tip Lisa:):)

7
yummy, healthy snacks:)

it's whateva'.

photo via Really Natural

holy HELL. Just finished purchasing the majority of the Wedding Party gifts. Phew. I seriously worked myself up for a nap.
I thinkkkk it came out to be a tad cheaper than I had planned but I'm too afraid to add it all up and verify that because NOTHING about this wedding/honeymoon has ended up being cheaper than I had planned.

but everything is coming together EXACTLY as we wanted it too, if not better. So you won't hear any complaints from me (unless you're Courts, Neen, Pigg, Mal, Mom, GERD...the customer service rep for Aldo, Grocery Check-Out lady, my nieces and nephews, our dogs...strangers on the street;).
So yeah...I've been a bit 'vocal' about the wedding but I'm just a tightly wound person...stressing is my nature.
BUT I DO love to 'play it by ear' and 'see what happens'....which is why I'm SO beyond excited about our honeymoon because we'll be 'winging it' for 25 days...EEEEEEEEEKKKK!!!

okay...that paragraph, trying to convince you I'm supa' chill, kinda stressed me out;)

POINT: today I'm, basically, excited to being THAT much closer to having EVERYTHING about this wedding paid for so we can finally get back to some sort of savings normalcy:)
