a year of our life.

celebrating our one year anniversary (and Homer's 4mth birthday:) on 9/8/12 in Moab, CO.

what can I say. I'm one lucky sob:)

it seems that ANY other time...I have a million and 10 things to say and then when it comes to Jacob. I draw a blank. I guess it's hard to describe exactly how I feel about what I have with Jacob. What he gives me. - you know what I'm sayin' Courts;)

he completes me. YES. I said it!!!!! Omg. It's true though:)

somehow I know that I'm exactly where I should be. Every day I feel lucky that I'm lucky enough to KNOW that I'm exactly where I should be. I'm so glad that I have the sense not to take Jacob or our life for granted.

don't get me wrong. There are times that I take advantage...send him to the gas station at 11PM for 2 soft cookies and a threat to cut off 2 of his fingers if he returns with anything other than JUST THAT;) And he'll do it:)
BUT I like to think that I have the same weakness for him:)

and thanks to my nephew, peyton, for the video footage. Seriously...well done my man. Well done:)
full tune above.

i'm finally sharing a video that has me in tears EVERY time I watch it. This day was a haze of happiness. I remember being nervous...not about Jacob and making a life-time commitment to him. BUT about having anyone there to witness it:/ I regret that I didn't smile more. I was actually happy, despite looking like a vicious bitch in pretty much alllll the photos;)

it's been a year since I married the perfect man for me. The perfect dad to our babies. The perfect cook for my belly;) My life doesn't work without him. I've never much believed in anything after this one life we get. But I know that there has to be more because I'll always need more time when it comes to Jacob:)

happy one year anniversary my heart.

i miss this moment:)

so this happened and it hardly feels possible!!!

last night we were talking about how it's only...ONLY...been about 3 months since we got married and only about ONE month since we returned from our amazing honeymoon. It feels like a lifetime:'(

i'm a little unorganized as far as what I've already posted of the wedding (I know it's very little) but I don't want to repeat, if I can help it.

SO I'll try to regroup and get you some more photos. I think my main objection was to get my iPhoto Honeymoon and Wedding Books made (DONE:) and show them to family before posting here on the blog. SO slowly but surely...I'll get you some more pretties to look at:)

flashback:)

i miss our wedding...our wedding day...the night before...the morning of the day before...the morning of...yep. Pretty much every minute of it:)

we could NOT be happier that my nephew, Peyton, video tapped the ceremony. There are SO many perfect parts of the ceremony that he caught Perfectly and most likely by accident;) But I want to give him hugs every day for getting it all on film for us to have forever:)

i was just watching the end of the ceremony and questioning whether to post it or not. It's probably THE.BEST...hands down...most perfect part of the entire thing and Peyton captured it beautifully (cut to me crying right now thinking about how perfect it is:')...but I'm just not ready to share. It's SO...ours yet:) Someday I'm sure I will but for now I'll just save that for us:)

today's favorite post word: perfect (or some variation of that) - 5 times:)

beef.chicken.pork.

friend (that's actually what I call her...she likes it:) made these adorable little place cards for our wedding dinner. I found something similar online and then we tweaked it a bit and this is what we came up with. AND on the softest, prettiest pale blue/grey paper you'd every lay your eyes and hands on:)

we did 3 different patterns. Cow - Chicken - Pig. Our family had 3 different dishes to choose from: Ribeye, Stuffed Chicken and Stuffed Pork. All amazing, by the way...just wish I'd been able to enjoy it more...you just don't have time and you're just not hungry...too excited to eat:)

whichever dish they chose was the card Courtney wrote their name on, which helped the servers decipher which dish should go where. Worked perfectly:)

yep. I pretty much loved how all the details came together and I'm glad for the ones that we were able to get done for the wedding and reception!!

tidbits and kisses:)

we will be getting on an airplane in about 48 hours. Crossing the ocean. Going to another country for just over 3 weeks...by ourselves...without our family...BY.OURSELVES.

believe me...there are nerves.

to get my mind off of things I'm going to look back on a perfect day. A day I already miss...our Wedding:)

UP getting my makeup did prior to the Ceremony. An added expense, seeing as I forgot my entire make-up bag sitting at home:(
BUT it was a great treat and I have no regrets about that!

UP/DOWN the table set-up. Everything was quite simple...exactly what we wanted:)

UP we set-up our computer at the wedding dinner to play 'cocktail' tunes. I'm SO glad we did that:)

UP dad and mom. Pretty much adore this photo:)

i'm still patiently waiting for our professional photos. I'm actually not too anxious and I think the vacation has a little something to do with that:)
I can't wait to see what views she got!! I'll post those as soon as I can!!!

home-made chalk board.

i recently had someone inquire about how I made our chalkboards for the wedding (and since I have 10 followers...well..you know who you are;)

i'll keep this as simple as possible - as if I know any other way:)

UP/DOWN find something cute/cool/fun that you think would be even greater with the ability to write on with chalk.
In our case: old windows we found on the side of the road. In your case: could be a wall in your kitchen/child's bedroom, a cutout piece of wood, a mirror...whateva:)

clean it up. Whether this means dusting or sanding. Just get it nice and smooth:)

PS. there's that $1200 (aka. $75 couch:)

UP grab some chalk board paint from your local hardware store. THIS is the stuff I got. You can get either paint or spray. I think it's really your preference and I'm sure you'll find that paint works better for different projects (maybe larger:).

UP paint it onnnnn. der;) And follow the simple instructions on the bottle or can. It will, basically, be telling you to clean the area, paint on smoothly. Allow x number of hours to dry and repeat one or 2 more times.

UP/DOWN dryinggggg. Keep cats away:)
also...be sure to rub some chalk on the item after it's completely dried for 3 days. Rub chalk on and then wipe off. This will help to make it....I'm really not sure. BUT those are the instructions:)

below are some additional chalk board type projects we did in regards to the wedding:)

UP/DOWN here we used the spray paint. Super easy.

DOWN the kiddos had a blast with these:)

UP we used some windows as welcome signs, others for directions and more for some quotes that we had picked out:)

DOWN once they're out of our hands though...we have no control over whether they'll be used for good or evil;)

and now I feel SUPER crafty. Until next time!!!:)

our reception site.

as promised. More photos. And this post is packed full of um'!

drummmm rolllllllll: our pretty, pretty reception site:)

UP before...this may have actually been on Wednesday morning....a few days prior to the reception.

DOWN some of the cute details. Chalk board welcome sign and some directions for those in need of some assistance;)

UP those cocktail tables were one of my favorite touches. As well as the hanging flowers that were generously lent to me by my coworker! PS. check out the plywood floor. Pretty much saved the day...I was able to wear heels:)

DOWN we blew up photos of the two of us together as well as photos of us from the ceremony in La Crosse to share with our guests.

UP some tables on the dance floor. I just loved how they looked with all the white and the jars with wild flowers and small candles. It seriously couldn't have been more perfect for us:)

UP/DOWN jacob and I before our first dance. We were behind the DJ stand and it gave us a perfect view of the lights over the dance floor.

looking back on these photos...even after only being married for 11 days...makes me so sad. I know there's SO much more to come but I wish we could rewind and do it all over again. It was so us and so perfect:)

so was there anything between the planning and details and the reception...SURE:)

here are some photos my BFF, Gerd, captured on film. Unfortunately, most everyone was IN the wedding or filming...so we didn't get a lot of personal photos of the actual ceremony. SO we'll patiently wait till early November (fingers crossed), when our photographer should have something to show us! YAY!!

but these should hold you over till then!

no worries...more random wedding photos to come!:)

all in the details:)

holy lord. I'm not sure where to start.

first off. I love Jacob a bit more every day. Since this wedding...I've fallen in love with him more. Tomorrow we will have been married one week. The fastest amount of time that's passed since we got engaged. Sad, really:( But in that time...I've realized it's only going to get that much better from here on out and I truly believe that if you start where we're starting...................awful babies won't ruin that;)

POINT: things are good. The wedding was beyondddd amazing and I'm going to give you a headache with the amount of random wedding posts I post over the next few weeks (or months:)

enjoy!
UP/DOWN we got a handful of Star Wars pokes to put in the cupcakes as well as a ton of buttons. One of my favorite parts of the wedding was how much people commented on our details and not only that...but how much the details were 'US':)

UP/DOWN most details were discovered on Etsy (LOVE). Including this pretty bracelet I wore on Saturday night for the Reception.

UP/DOWN our pencil favors with "the smith's" and "i love you more than beef" inscribed on them. We used them for the guest book also. We have an over abundance of pencils left over, so we've decided Courts won't buy school pencils for the kids for the next few years;)

UP/DOWN the flowers were SO beautiful. And only $30-ish from a local Farmer's Market. They turned out perfectly! And a HUGE thanks to Pigg for doing the majority of the arrangements!!:)

UP/DOWN i loved these straws SO. And then I ordered them. And then I realized I had no where to use them. SO we must have a party in our future that require these festive straws:)

remember above when I was full of all that love shiat?! Welllllll...it's 844PM and I have not ate supper yet and Jacob's not answering his phone and the dog's actually looking incredibly tasty at the moment. Losing love by the second. I.NEED.FOOD. Bring it to me. Read my mind. Know that I want it and bring it. NOW.

xoxo:)
