spot of tea.

in honor of this insanelyyyyyy shitty weather we're receiving in Wisconsin - what could we have done to deserve 37 degree...windy...rainy...overcast...snow-on-the-ground...weather on April 25th???? - I thought I'd share an adorable purchase I made a few weeks back.

this little tea pot, from Goodwill, was just shy of $6. I'llllll take it!!! Since cutting hours at my job, I've joined my sisters in drinking coffee about 4 mornings a week - yes...that's amazing:). But I still don't own a coffee maker - just a Kuerig, which we love:) We do have tea in the house and I'll have a cup every now and again. But I'd like to increase the frequency of my tea drinking and I feel this adorable little pot will help me do just that:)

i'm hoping that in a weeks time I'm posting about my new favorite hot-summer-day-alcoholic-beverage;)

cheers!:)

food.

cooking has never been my strong suit...wait...lets try that again.

i think I can cook. I think I'd actually be relatively good. I don't though. Pure laziness;)

for real though, I think years of not really being able to afford to get groceries has attached a negative feeling towards cooking. Now that Homer is here, we're kinda forced to have food in the house...at least for him...but we still haven't gotten that much better. And now that we're balancing 2 mortgages...groceries has still drifted to the bottom of the list of things to do:/

i'm hoping in the coming year. With the sale of our current home and having our finances finally settle...we'll be in a place where I'm able to just see a recipe, write it down and get everything to make it - what a dreamer I am;). Until then...we try to find little things we can do to keep our belly's full and happy:)

here's a recipe I found on the adorable M Loves M blog:)

ours is kids play compared to hers;) We used things we already had around the house...so we weren't able to use fresh basil. And I dare you to find a fresh baguette in Colby. DARE YOU!!!!!;)
But it was still pretty scrumptious, so I imagine the exact recipe is probably amazingggggggg!!!!

SIDE NOTE: jacob was confused about where the meat was..."where's the meat? there's no meat? what do you mean you don't put meat on it?" ;)

eat eat eat...peaches!!!!

our boy, Homer, ate some solids...not quite for the firstttttt time. But kindaaaa...officiallyyyyy for the first time:) We've been giving him little tastes of things over the last few weeks. Just a pinky of yogurt. Or potatoes. But tonight we went for it. And peaches were on the...baby menu:)

it was actually really great to have him sitting up at the table with us. Jacob and I were able to...talk?! Holy shit. Where you exchange words...look at each other's faces...nod...laugh...
I may or may not be crying cause it takes it happening to realize that it hasn't happened in far too long:) Don't get me wrong...Jacob and I talk more than most. Communication has never been something we've lacked. Mostly cause I have a problem. That problem is that I'm able to speak and I do it. A lot...at Jacob;)

so, while Homer took little bites and tried to figure out what to do with the stuff in his mouth...we laughed and talked about super important things...likeeeeee: who's going to pick up the dog shit before we rake the lawn. Maybe tomorrow night we'll have Homer try some peas while Jacob and I discuss our Life Insurance Policy and our need for a Will.

anddddd we're officially adults;)

this child is too cute for words:) The end.

after all those peaches...straight to the bath:)

night ya'll!!!
(i'm trying out ya'll. So far...so good;)

ma-na-ma-naaaaa:)

yay for Road Trips!! Double YAY for a night with the ladiessssss:)

me and a few of my best of friends went to the Cities for a 24hr visit to see another bestest friend! And it was...awesommmmeeee:) SO needed wanted;)
And these girlies are SO much fun! I pretty much laughed the entire time:)

UP i found the black flops I've been looking for at Old Navy and wisely bought 2 pair right away. They're a BIT uncomfortable...regarding the straps. BUT for $3 each, you really can't go wrong.

we started our trip with some shopping. Naturally;)

UP option from Charlotte Russe. Jacob's not fond of it. Was thinking this for the April Wedding:)

i've been on the hunt for something to wear for my baby shower and/or a wedding we have in April.

UP a dress I did purchase at Old Navy...thinking Baby Shower for sure!? And possibly the April Wedding. The April Wedding is still 5 weeks away, which means that could be a taddddd too short by then if the belly grows...which I'm told...will;)

i'd really like to pair the dress above with some Toms:
not sure the red dress, red Toms combo is working for me...Too much red?!

UP the baby likes shopping:)

UP another April Wedding option from JCPenney. SO pretty and loved all the color but the fit wasn't quite right:(

after all that shopping, we got ready and headed downtown to Howl at the Moon. A great new piano bar:) Needless to say...things didn't get too crazy...we were DD tightttttt. Three out of the 7 of us there are expecting. Eeeeek!

UP/DOWN my HUGE drink getting in every shot;)

UP after, quickly, going through 3 cups of Kitty Cocktails...we decided to cut the waiter some slack and order a 'Large':) This came back to haunt me at 2AM, 330AM and 630AM. Lots of pee breaks but totally worth it!!

UP/DOWN amazing food. A LOT of amazing food. Lordy. And the largest/longest fish sandwich we'd ever seen:)

UP me and Friend. I edited the photo a bit...which didn't entirely help but we were against a plain wall. Yuck. And right above our heads, on this plain wall, was a neon 'RESTROOMS' sign. Again, YUCK. Not the greatest for photo fun!

around midnight we called it a night. A super time was had:)

UP love the song on that sign. Thought about how cute it'd be in the baby room but the rustic look wasn't working for me.

on Saturday we did a bit more shopping. OPPS. And had THE best pizza in all the land. I can't remember what the place was called...but 1/2 of that pizza made it into my belly...with no regrets;)

a successful trip was had by all and I'm already excited for the next one! Our Annual MOA trip is coming up in 46 daysssss! YAY!!!!!:)
Thanks again to my good friend, Carrie, for being our hostess and letting us crash at her house and eat her good food. ALWAYS a treat and seriously becoming my home away from home:)

annual party-ing:)

another year...another Smith Bros. Meat's Christmas Party:)

every year Smith Bros. - the family owned business that Jacob works for and will someday/maybe/we'll see/not sure what the deal is...be taking over with his brother and cousin...has their annual 'Christmas Party'.

i very much enjoy seeing my family and the amazing food and the orange juice and seven up were flowing...as were many other drinks that make you red in the cheeks and do, what we'll call, ridiculous 'silly' things. Ah, I could vomit on your faces about my disgust with the topic of 'drinking'. But I'll spare you. I once had my own struggles with drinking and never thought that our age group (late 20's-ish) would be the sober ones watching those twice our age get stupid 'silly'...it's a whole different perspective and an eye opener.

movinggggg on:)

some tidbits of our evening!!!

online <span class=
UP p showing off his hair growth progress:)

UP nasher being nasher:)

UP austyn made it long enough to eat...and then she passed out...and then the kids put wrapped gum in her mouth...which I took out...soon after taking a photo;)

UP/DOWN any opportunity to get a group Sista' photo...it's on:) These are 2 out of MANY!!!

PS. thank you mom for cutting me off RIGHT at the bump. Flattering...I think not;)

and then some photos of Jacob and I and baby...and another Smith Creeper;)

cute ones are usually followed by a few NOT so cute ones...that we weren't aware were being taken. Eeeeekkkkk;)

UP well helloooooo nap hair and double chin!!!

ah...the kid just loves me...and my ever growing bottom:):)

UP loving loving lovingggg my festive sweaterrrrrrr!:)

and that would be our night...or 1030PM;)
