if the crown fits...

homer doesn't turn ONE for another 7 months. Or not at all if I'm able to stop time before that.

New Goal: stop time;)

anddddd now I'm crying at the thought of my precious baby boy turning ONE:'(

POINT: Etsy birthday crowns.

aren't these adorable?!?! Jacob and I have talked a lot about the things we want for Homer...and Birthday Parties are not one of those things. I'm sure he'll be attending plenty with all his cousins - although, my sister's (with 9 kids between them) have kinda gotten on board with skipping the parties as well. - Thank gawd;)

does this mean Homer won't have a special day?! Absolutely not! We're gonna make it obnoxiously special;) Maybe streamers outside his door or a room full of balloons to wake up to. When I was a kid...who am I kidding...still to this day;)...we all - and by all...I mean my sisters and I, our husbands, mom and dad and all the kiddos - pick out what we want for dinner and then our immediate family gets together. Believe me...that ends up being a plenty big party. There are about 22 of us in our IMMEDIATE family.

jacob and I also agreed on a no gift policy. IF they insisted that they MUST spend money on Homer for his Birthday, we only ask that they talk to us first and if there are specific things he needs, we can make a suggestion. Otherwise, we'd rather they just put some money in his savings or books. Boring. I knowwwww;) The point of all that is to avoid an over abundance of toys. It's just not necessary and we hope to avoid having to sift through mounds of toys every year for Goodwill.

jacob and I also discussed only getting Homer a few, select things for his birthday's...and Christmas. For example. For Christmas Santa is bringing Homer a sled (don't ask me how I know this;) and then Jacob and I plan to get his first pair of real awesome shoes and possibly a new outfit....and there will be stocking stuffers of Disney DVD's and books and such...

anyhoo. I know it's sometimes hard not to just spoil the shit out of them because they are adorable and all those clothes are super tiny and adorable and you just want to give them everything in the whole wide world. But we hope to keep things as minimal as possible and even looking at the above paragraph seems like we're already getting a bit overboard;)
I guess thinking back on my childhood...we didn't get a crazy amount of presents. I remember always being completely happy with what we found under the tree on Christmas morning but now, as an adult, I know that we got less than a lot of the other kids I knew. This was in no way a bad thing. And as I've said a million times before: I only hope Jacob and I do for Homer what my parents did for my sisters and I. And that was time together. Family vacations and a million amazing memories to look back on.

have I mentioned lately how lucky I am??!?!
Yep. Spoiled rotten;)

jacob will have to have a matching one when he sees this;)

homer would be freaking adorable in a little crown on his birthday!!! Those photos are going to be perfect:)

all of the 4 crowns above can be found HERE:)

and because my birthday is coming up quickly - March;) I figured I need to start thinking about ways to make MY day super amazing also...or ways for Jacob to make my day super amazing;)

this is no ordinary birthday. This will be my 30th. Mind. Blown. I'm in no way nervous about turning 30. I sure do like 29 and wish I could stick with that number a tad longer. BUT 30 will be just fine:) BUT I do want to kick it up a notch because it's kindaaaa a big deal. SO a crown will be necessary:)

annual party-ing:)

another year...another Smith Bros. Meat's Christmas Party:)

every year Smith Bros. - the family owned business that Jacob works for and will someday/maybe/we'll see/not sure what the deal is...be taking over with his brother and cousin...has their annual 'Christmas Party'.

i very much enjoy seeing my family and the amazing food and the orange juice and seven up were flowing...as were many other drinks that make you red in the cheeks and do, what we'll call, ridiculous 'silly' things. Ah, I could vomit on your faces about my disgust with the topic of 'drinking'. But I'll spare you. I once had my own struggles with drinking and never thought that our age group (late 20's-ish) would be the sober ones watching those twice our age get stupid 'silly'...it's a whole different perspective and an eye opener.

movinggggg on:)

some tidbits of our evening!!!

PS. thank you mom for cutting me off RIGHT at the bump. Flattering...I think not;)

MKE BParty w/ my ladies:)

holy hell. I had my Bachelorette Party. It.Was.AWESOMEEEEEEEE:):) I really can't say enough about it. SO I'll let the abundance of photos below do the talking. These may be repeats if you checked out Facebook cause I do plan to put a few up there so the ladies have better access to them. But otherwise...this is it!!!

UP lady Carrie, me and cousin Neen chilling outside of Club Charlies. GREAT place to start and end the night!

DOWN more chilling.

UP we also walked around the Third Ward in the afternoon. They have a great Public Market, where we had some lunch and a margarita:) I suggest this to anyone looking for a nice afternoon of browsing...it's just a really great area of the city!

UP/DOWN the rest of the night was just good ol' fashioned...clean...fun:) Nothing too crazy. And though this picture may scream otherwise...it was really pretty laid back!

i just want to thank everyone again. It was such a fantastic day/night and I am still freaking surprised every time someone goes out of their way to help with this wedding and be there for me. Just coming ALL the way to freaking Milwaukee for my BParty was SO much to ask and I just love that everyone made time to be there with me!:)

24 more days:)

xoxo

i could go on....but I'll save that for another post. This is only the beginning. I'm happy. Happy. It was THE best shower and it was THE best way to begin this incredible, happy, amazing experience with my family and friends and of course, the boy that makes me want all this...Jacob.

the morning of the shower, I texted this to Jacob and it about sums it up:)

"Hey Love! Remind me NEVER to have a wedding shower without you againnnnn! Thank you for all your hard work and still wanting to marry me (a little;) after how I've been acting. I love you more than anything."

"oh, and can you drop off some pickles and ice?! xoxo"

hipstamatic party.

i've been a bit out of the loop for a few days and that COULLLLLLDDDD be because I got a 'stern' warning at work for my Internet usage. I'm not going to lie. I went over in a HUGE way. SO yeah. Take my 2 hour monthly limit and add abouttttt 57 hours on that. WISH I were exaggerating!
My only argument was that I get ALL that Internet time under my belt WHILE:
- saving lives
- and doing some of my managers projects
Lets just say that I still have a job but they were not completely impressed with my argument;)

lesson learned:)

most recently me and Jacob had a night out!! We celebrated a friends 50th Birthday with a Surprise Birthday Party! It turned out to be a great night. AND even after 4.5 shots of tequila - followed by a shit ton of water, which is the onlyyyy reason I woke up the next morning feeling like a million bucks!!! - I still have some memories to pass on!

i kinda went a bit crazy with the Hipstamatic on the iPhone...but I love it and this Mexican Party seemed to be thrown with that exact iPhone app in mind. It was PERFECT:)

here's my future Father-in-law watching the dancing:)

sometime in the near future I'll have to upload a video of me and Jacob. Towards the middle of the night we were called to the dance floor - aka. a place I hate from the bottom of my soullllll - and we proceeded to win a dance off against 2 other couples.
And just cause we won does in NO way mean we were good. We were painful, awkward...the opposite of good. NO LIE!!!

i've canceled the DJ for the wedding. There will be no dancing had!;) And I ask of you now...please don't pull me and Jacob on the dance floor the night of the reception. Honestly, if we are overcome by the need to dance - HIGHLY unlikely - we'll join you on our own;)
Thank you in advance my dancing friends:)
