pink birdie.

i'd like to post MORE pictures of the house and the wedding shower and the gifts I received and how beautiful everything looks....soon. Very soon my pretties!

and by soon, I mean Tuesday. That's when my Mac will FINALLY freaking be here! Arg. I could seriously take some time off work and track down that FedEx truck, punch him in the face and thank him very much for my Mac. I.Want.IT.NOW!!!...And by now, I mean yesterday!!!!!!

but for now...I'll do some light blogging from this Dell. Stupid Dell;)

above (not below, where I actually want it but am unable to move it cause this Dell doesn't understand what Ctrl C/Ctrl V means. IDIOTTTTTTT!!!) there is an adorable picture of some lawn ornaments. I received the identical flamingo's for our Wedding Shower.

did we register for pink flamingos?! Now way in hell.
did someone stray from the registry and get something we absolutely didn't need...say, pink flamingo's?! You're damn right.
did I plan on burning them until seeing this picture!? Next Saturday.

i will now let them live and they may even be welcome at our Reception. IF you don't see them at our reception...you can assume we got bored and decided to burn things;)

i could go on....but I'll save that for another post. This is only the beginning. I'm happy. Happy. It was THE best shower and it was THE best way to begin this incredible, happy, amazing experience with my family and friends and of course, the boy that makes me want all this...Jacob.

the morning of the shower, I texted this to Jacob and it about sums it up:)

"Hey Love! Remind me NEVER to have a wedding shower without you againnnnn! Thank you for all your hard work and still wanting to marry me (a little;) after how I've been acting. I love you more than anything."

"oh, and can you drop off some pickles and ice?! xoxo"

it was perfect and I'm so sad it's over but on we go.

saveeee the date and a wedding shower:)

and the big reveal:):)

the wedding shower and save the dates went out today to close family and friends! I am supa' excited for everyone to get their mail today!!!:)

here are some shots from what they started as and what they looked like when being sent out:)

UP my moch shower invite.

UP the adorable stamps my Friend ordered for me for our return address!

DOWN courts did a freaking beautiful job addressing the envelopes. I love them SO much that I'm making sure she makes one for me (to frame w/ the rest of the invite shiat) and I'd like her to put her skills to work on my little BParty invite:)

UP/DOWN the final look before they were stuffed and sent! Hopefully you enjoy the festive stamps I chose:)

UP/DOWN the STD's (Save the Dates). We altered them just a tad and they also turned out amazing:)

DOWN here is what would have been received in the mail!:) How about that freaking Ram stamp!? Love it!? I knowwwwww. Amazing! Apparently that teeeeennny little bump from the tags and string added 20 cents to each envelope. Had you walked into the Post Office yesterday, you would have found me in a dark corner sweating while trying to throw 2 more stamps (Ram and Star) onto 50 envelopes while my TB (Taco Bell) was chilling in the car and Pigg was waiting 10 min. away for her lunch.

yeah. No pressure. AT.ALL!!!;)

next up...July...and the actual Invites:):)

wine. num num num:)

i'm not going to lie. I think I've kept things pretttttty easy for the ladies in my wedding. And by easy...I mean that they've only had to endure email, upon email, upon hundreds of emails. I don't think that's soooo much seeing as I've been engaged for 14 months and still have 350 days till Wedding DDay?!:)

mostly I just love this process so it seems ridiculous to put it on someone else's shoulders.

since that fabulous BParty (Bachelorette Party) I attended last weekend, all I've been thinking about is my very own shower and BParty and how much fun they'll be and what we'll do and where we'll go and what we'll wear and if there will be a theme.

so far I've narrowed down the shower to what I want...and here it be (Courts - MOH...take note).
THEME: Italian and Wine
FOOD: 1/ Spaghetti (my all time Favorite) made by Jacob with different topping options like meatballs, onions, mushrooms, ground beef, etc. 2/ fresh salad with Olive Garden dressing 3/ Cheesy Bread...YUMMMMMMMM!!!!

point: I found this little game to play that would fit right in with the theme. You take a few bottles of wine and then we all taste test and have to categorize them into a certain price! FUN...obviously!:)

i would love to do other little games, some including questions that were asked of Jacob prior to the Shower...but as for the toilet paper outfits and the chewing gum or anyone touching me more than necessary...I'll pass.

story: I asked Jacob on our walk the other night if maybe he could get me a little present to give to Courts for me to open at the Shower. Mostly cause I love surprises and I love nothing more than surprises in present form;)
After having a lengthy discussion, mostly of me saying no to his dirty/inappropriate suggestions of potential presents he could get...we settled on a snapping turtle. Yep folks. That's the best I could get out of him and at that point I didn't want to talk about the present anymore;)

i'll take one wedding shower.

i'm not going to lie. The idea of not getting a wedding shower because of our teeny wedding has crossed my mind.

i was able to get past that because me and Jacob came up with a creative way to get around it and STILL register for gifts. The plan was to pick a few places to register and then take advantage of the percentage most places give off for about 30 days after the wedding.
SO we register and then we get married and THEN we go shopping and get all our own things at a discounted price. Nice. I knowwwwww;)

but then I just recently attended a good friends shower and was a bitttt sad that I wouldn't be getting one of my own. And that's when things got crazy!!! My girl friend insisted that I still have a shower and I will pass all the blame. She's super cool and immediately had me convinced that YES...I do still need a shower!!!!

after running this by several (10) people....I'm thinking it's doable. I have done research on the Internet. Below are just 3 places that I've read through and it seems that the consensus is that I can, in fact, have a wedding shower without looking like a greedy bitch. And I'll be the first to admit...I love a present. This is true. BUT I also would hate anyone thinking I was doing this ONLY for gifts. I'm not going to lie, that's a huge perk. But after being at my friends and seeing all her friends and family together....celebrating her. Yep. I knew I needed to get me a cute dress and have people over to my place to drink wine and tell me how pretty and lucky I am;)
OH, and have a wedding shower:)

photo via It's All About Weddings

here are the 3 sites that I refereed to above. They each break down to say:

1/ you CAN have a wedding shower even if you're having a SMALL/Intimate Destination-type wedding

2/ you can NOT invite everyone and anyone...don't get crazyyyyyy

3/ you MUST send out a Save the Date to those you plan on inviting to the Wedding Shower before said Wedding Shower to let guests know that they are invited to a "reception" following the SMALL/Intimate Destination-type wedding

SO in the wedding world this is acceptable and not that I'm not all about bending...breaking...the rules but I really didn't want to get the whole town talking about that ahole bride who's expecting presents but not down with inviting 'them present givers' to our wedding. And that is SO not how we feel.
IF we could afford to invite Jacob's 2nd grade teacher and that Gander Mountain check-out girl that he's taken a liking to, we WOULD! I'd want them there to soak up some of the love! But I fear that even if we could afford it...we would never have chosen to have a big wedding. SO it's not about anyone not being good enough, or smelling, or having an obnoxious child...or 2, or having too healthy an appetite for our $23 per plate bill OR even being a heavy drinker.....We love you all...we love you all enough not to expect you to come all the way out of town to see us get married!!!
We'll blow it up on a big screen and we'll paste it to the walls at our reception and all within driving distance of your comfy homes:)
