fur.

i feel like I should have called each of you individually this morning with a:

i'm going to be doing a post on fur. Yes, you heard me correctly. Yep. I know. I knowwwwww. And don't hate me...but I'm not hating a fur hat. At all.

SO today...a post on fur. Lots of fur in your face. FUR.

our newest MOA member, Mickey and my cousin, Neen:)

ultimately, I just wanted you to know that fur is making a come back. And there are ENDLESS options out there. And while on our Annual MOA Trip...if it was fur...it was gettin' put on our heads. Boom.

happy hump day!!:)

2014 MOA *fall* Wish List

it's that time of year again...soon it'll be dark by 6PM - EW - and so I've decided to distract myself from the impending cold and start dreaming up what I'd like to add to my closet come November!

we've started making plans for our Fall Mall of America Trip! YAY! It's quite the sickness and I won't be made to feel bad about it. *MIDDLE FINGER* ;) Man...I just love fashion. I love shopping. I love shopping even when I'm not getting anything. I love to look. I love to walk around with my sisters and my mom and my girlfriends...coffee in hand...baby in the sling...and the money in my pocket that I saved all year:)

our trip is 47 days away. So it's very likely that I'll be adding things to or removing things from...this list. But here's my thoughts as of now:

1 . 2 . 3 don't ask me why...but I have a serious thing for High Tops. I'll be looking to my 11 year old niece for advice/opinions on this topic;)

and I'm already preparing myself for the girls to give me that 'face' and saying "welllllll....they look like something you'd wear" when I ask them to come watch me try on High Tops at DSW;)

4
these are adorable and very inexpensive - $3.50. I think it'd be fun to wear out on a Date Night with Jacob, especially because I know he'd notice and appreciate the sentiment:) - that smiley face has blushed cheeks;)

i've been lusting over turquoise rings. Yep. Need one in my life:)

6
this ring just speaks to me. I loveeee you toooo ringggggg!!!!:)

my BFF recently got a new ring/bands from her husband for their 10 year anniversary (romannnnticcccc:) and it just got me to thinking about adding to my band some day and this one is right up my alley - NOT that there's anything wrong with the $7 one, from Etsy, that I've been sporting for the last 3 years:)

SIDE NOTE: I bought 4 of those bands...one for myself and one for each of my sisters...I'd have to check but I THINK we all still wear ours?

8
i have 2 super cheap 'pleather' jackets in my closet. I'd love to replace those with one REAL leather jacket. But crap...I'd have to save a hell of a lot longer to get myself one of those...so in the mean time?!?!....

9
there are so many alternatives to leather but that are still super dressy. These would be some of those options. I really love the classic black and you could definitely dress an outfit UP with this jacket...or throw a fitted hoodie on underneath it to dress it down.

my favorite colors: black/grey/white. Shocking that I'd be drawn to this:)

11
this hat. THIS.HAT. Tell me I'm not crazy?!?!?!?!?! Need. Must.Haveeeeeee. The end.
If this hat is wrong...I don't want to be right!!!;)

12
my hat obsession continues. I've definitely made some mistakes with hats in the past but I'd like to right those wrongs;)

13
"us against them" reminds me of Jacob and I. And the flat brim reminds me of Homer. Is 31 - O.M.G....I seriously forget I'm 31 until I have to remember that I'M THIRTY-ONE?!?!!...point. Is 31 too old to wear a trucker hat?! Lie to me if you must;)

the reality is that the less money I have in the bank...the more expensive my taste gets;) Sooooo this year I'm going to try and "shop smart"!!! Wish me luck:)

*see my Spring Wish List HERE and a trip we took in 2012 HERE.
It's actually quite fun to look back on my lists because I like to think I never stray too far from what I've always loved. I hope that when people look at my list or something I love, they think: yep...that looks like Casey:)

me likes: one-piece jeans.

i'm bringing the jean overall back. Hard;)

and within 30 minutes of leaving the house I received these 2 comments:

. "where is she going....like thattttt!??!" - Peyton (14yrs old)
. "mom...you do NOT want to see your sister right now!!" - Tayt (7yrs old)

so far the opinions are from those who think it's okay to eat your buggers and who still shart in their shorts on the regular;) SO yeah...I'm hurt;)

1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 5

above are a few semi-affordable options and below are the ones I chose!

i went with option ONE. The were super affordable. I think I ended up getting them for about $30, on sale!

i doubt my small town (or husband;) is ready for this party but I'm not gonna lie...I kinda love them...uh lot:)

across the bod:)

ever since I got a pretty, pretty purse for my birthday - HERE - I'm kinda addicted to all the finer things in life. Including the amazing purses below. I'm actually willing to throw out ALL the clearance Target and 2nd hand store purses in my closet in order to have 3 REAL leather, amazing quality purses in my possession.

next on the (unrealistic) Wish List, would be a cross-body purse. Ideally, one of the 3 below:)

2014 MOA wish list:)

5 days until our Annual MOA Shopping Trip. We've gone a fewwwww times - it's a sickness really;) But there's no shame in our MOA game. We love it and we're not afraid to shop from 9AM to 9PM - that's real life.!!!!!:):)

below are a few things on my list this year. I'm KINDA in super love with this year's list (check out last year's list HERE). It's pretty. Simple. Lady-like. And comfy:) I'm deeming this year: Hot-YOUNG-Mom-of-2-Year;)
As I've matured...I've found that I actually stick prettyyyyyy close to The List. This is much better on the checkbook than past years. Going with a plan...that's the best plan:)

total for all 7 items (hoping there will be some sales): $264.63

1 boyfriend capris - i have a pair in my closet, that have made their way to the Maternity Bin because I can wear them up until 40wks of pregnancy:/ I got a few sizes TOO big. Time for the correct size!

2 birkenstocks - don't ask me why...but I think these would make my feet SO very happy this summer!:)

3 flowy tanks - i just love this entire look. Black is my business but then pair it with a long gold necklace...yep:)

4 levi's - i'm not normally one to get 'transition jeans' (no clue what Transition Jeans are?!?! - jeans that fit me now...but will hopefully be wayyyyy too big in 6 weeks when I'm back to my pre-baby weight:) but these are relatively inexpensive and I'm very curious to see how the fit works on me. They're more of a maybe/we'll see. But I can't wait to try them on!

5 comfy dress - envision this dress with my Birkenstocks. Or some flats. Or gladiators. I like the idea of this dress toned down for casual wear.

6 jump suit - oh shit yeah. This is a JUMP SUIT! You wouldn't have known, right?!?! I have a wedding in June and thought this was adorable. The top looks pretty accessible for nursing and I just love the look! Classy. Totally encompasses the Hip Mom look I'd love to pull off;)

7 sneakers - i have a row of converses that I LOVE but I'm ready to add something a tad different and with a splash of color for my summer wardrobe. These are it:)

i'm also super excited to be bringing Theo along on this trip! She's nursing, so bringing her was a no brainer. But I'm giving our new stroller (we got ours on Craig's List for $275...which is still INSANE-ish but it's amazing and we love it!!!) a go and bringing along the Ergo (we got our Ergo on Ebay for a fraction of the price and I'm actually hoping to get a Solly Wrap soon...I've heard they're glorious!!) which we've had out for a few walks already and it's been a dream!

lets hope baby girl likes shopping more than her big brother:)

my target.

i thought since everyone thinks Target's my 2nd Home anyways...I'd embrace that misconception;) If I think of it, from here on out, I'll snap some photos of the things I'm lusting over - or maybe even disliking;) - and post them here on the blog:)

last night, my sister's and I and some of the kiddos, made a trip to Target. Unfortunately, this was more of a trip for 'essentials' than anything fun. Boo:( Overall...it was stressful. Every time I leave the house, headed for a small shopping trip, I think of how much fun it's going to be to go with Homer!! We're going to be that adorable little mom/son situation! Him saying Hi to randoms. Me looking perfectly put together - not sweaty with anger at my screaming child AT.ALL;).

when we arrive...all smiles. And then 10 minutes passes and he hates life. A child of the age of 13 months. Already hating life. For no good reason...unless you consider me not giving him my Starbucks a good reason. Or me refusing to pick up his empty milk container and giving it back to him after he angrily chucks it out of the cart for the 15th time. All good reasons to hate life to him, I'm sure;)

SIDE NOTE: is 13 months of age too early to diagnose bipolar;)??

sooooo. Over the last 2 months Jacob and I had used some credit cards for the first time in years. We have them 'in case of emergencies' and figured that having 2 mortgages qualified as that. SO we started using them. And then we got the sickness and went completely overboard. SO last week I gathered all our cards, paid them off entirely and locked them back in the safe deposit box and then quickly tried to forget where the key was:) It felt GOOD. Huge weight lifted.

not having those credit cards sure makes Target a whole new ball game again. I can't believe how much those cards changed my mentality in only 2 short months! I felt like I could get ANYTHING with those cards. Last night, without them...I shopped smart. Picked up a few things. Put them back. Added some things to the Wish List and took some photos (as I've done a million times in the past) of things I'd love to get and will store away for some rainy day money:) I won't lie, had I had those credit cards available...I added up at least $100 worth of things that I knowwwww I wouldn't have been able to resist!:/

leaving Target having not spent money I didn't have....felt good:)
leaving Target with a list a mile long of things I'm loving and know I can't have anytime in the foreseeable future...tormenting;/

on with it...what I saw, that I love:)

1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 5

i'm currently trying to think of ways to make that new-to-us yellow couch work (remember the free one of the curb?...that'd be the one:). Jacob and I have both always wanted to get a huge, comfy sectional with a chaise - this is the one:). But we're budgeting for about $2,500 for something like that. COULD I live with the smaller yellow couch, especially if we were able to save $2,500 to put towards something else? Maybe if I were able to get some super cozy chairs and large ottoman and super soft rugs???

the items above just feel amazing to me. They were all super soft. Loving the Threshold Line and especially that a lot of it is organic. And I feel like the soft yellow and blue/gray/green all falls together so nicely:)
the photo below is my pathetic attempt at setting the room up to give you a little visual:) I actually just loved both chairs so I threw them in there but figured I'd go with one or the other, not both.

1 . 2 . 3

and then there are just some things that I see and like and want for no damn reason;)

the totes caught my eye because I thought they'd be really handy for a future carry-on OR for our upcoming road-trip to Florida. Think easy packing or carry along to the beach.

the watch is just...loveable. It's all black. Which I love. I'm seriously considering saving pennies (actual pennies) until I'm able to afford that and hopefully by then it'll be on sale:)

1 . 2

so this is getting pretty lengthy...I guess you could say that Target was on the money last night cause everythinggggg was looking good to me:)

we haven't quite finished our dining room but we do have a large table - that we also got for free from Jacob's dad!:) We love it and it has a leaf so that we can make it bigger, which I plan to do. We are gonna shove 5 4 kiddos around that thing, don't cha' know;) But I need new chairs. The ones we have are...old and dumb. So there;) - see photo above.

i love the upholstered chairs and there were actually some - see below - on sale but I couldn't find them online. And the decorative sign might not be something I'd ever add to the dining room or kitchen, but it was too cute not to include:)

1

these hanging planters have been on my radar since seeing them on a fellow Instagramer's feed! Jacob and I decided, shortly after moving into our new house, that we wanted to put up some sort of fence on the North side of our property. These will be an adorable addition:) At only $3.99 each, I did pick up a few last night:)

so that's the deal folks! That's a trip to Target for me and yes...all of this goes through my head while I'm wandering through the store. And yes...had Homer not been with...I would have found that to be a ridiculously successful trip! Leaving with ideas and hopes and dreams and lists and a checking account still filled with some money AND an almost finished Starbucks drink IS a success!!!:)

a few random side notes:

- i'm hoping to sign up for the Target REDcard the next time I'm there and have the time. I'll be getting the Debit Card that is attached directly to your checking account. It is in NO way a Credit Card.
With this card you get 5% off your purchases and free shipping when ordering online. I've also been told that you can donate 1% of your purchases to the school of your choice. As much as I do spend there, and I do spend a substantial amount of money there...these would be perks for me and would definitely buy our local High School an iPad or 2 a year;)

- my sister-in-law, over at High Hopes and Heartbreak, did some research on a new App called Cartwheel. She goes into detail over there about it but basically I thinkkkk you're able to find coupons through that app and save the ones you want to use and when you get to the store, they can scan those bar codes off your phone and you get additional savings! You can also use those coupons more than once before they expire!

happy shopping...or browsing:)

moa 2013 wish list:)

our annual Mall of America (MOA) trip is a mere 4 days away!!!!:):)

i'm leaving Homer and Jacob behind to spend too much money on myself for 11.5 hours straight.

it shall be glorious;)

here's a quick list of things that I'm hoping to grab while there and you can check out my fellow MOA Junkie's list HERE:)

1
some colorful summer sandals to spice things up:)

2
another past want that I'm hoping to finally purchase are these kitten heels! Great for work:)

3
i can't remember the last time I purchased a bra...maybe a nursing one? But it's definitely time:/ These are adorable and super affordable:)

4
i currently have what you call a 'mom purse' but I need something a bit easier for lugging around. Here's the one I have - it's hard to hold Homer AND this purse. So I need to upgrade to something that I can hold in my arm or cross body AND still fit a diaper, snack and wipes in:)

5
the skinny belts in my closet are down for the count...literally falling apart:/

6
tank tops are on the list. Something that's just a step above completely plain:)

7
this perfume has been on my list for quite some time. I have a hard time spending TOO much money on things. Tis why Target is so doable...not SO expensive. BUT this year I saved my Gift Certificates from the last 2 Christmas' and have $50 to put towards this purchase:)

8
starbucks is always a necessity...normally in hand within minutes of walking through those doors! This year I have a $15GC. Boom.

9
i want a gold pinky ring:)

this year is going to be pretty fantastic. Extra fantastic because I have about $150 worth of Gift Certificates and coupons to use! Follow me on Instagram, April 18th, for the play by play of my day at MOA:)

for the noggin'.

there are about 100 other posts that I should be doing but I'm going to insist that you join me in not doing things you shoulddddd be doing and instead:

online shop:)

i'm kindaaaaa in love with these and kindaaaa sortaaaa having a hard time not buying at least ONE! Just ONE people, cut me some slack!!!;)

my thinking is...I want more kids...for me, more kids means more hair loss! Eeeekkkk! SO these would be an adorable way to keep the five forehead in check during that time!

and seriously, they're just awesome and now I want my long hair back. Now.

okay. Now get to work filling those online baskets ladies! You know you want to:)

me likes. grey leggings

on our recent 'Date Day', Jacob and I did a little shopping...one of my few purchases were these grey jeggings. I really love them and am already trying to come up with ways to style them with things I already have in my closet. I've got a lot of Spring and Summer ideas but wasn't sure on how to use them the rest of the winter.

for those of you who appreciate and love all things fashion, this post will be fun. For those of you who don't...I suggest you move on about your day and never look back cause I'm about to get all sorts of annoying;)

PS. i'm going to try to make this a reoccurring theme! Something like:

me likes. pleather leggings
me likes. apple bottom jeans
me likes. boots with the fur
me likes. swim suits that make my body look like I never had a child

just a few examples!;) And I'll try, like this post, to include things that I've already bought and currently own. AND...not to get too ambitious or anything - cause I hateeee that shit;) - I'm hoping that once I actually put one of these outfits together...I'll post that too! Just to prove that I actually left the house in some of this stuff that I'm investing all of Homer's college education money in;)

                  AE - Jegging $24.99

i was inspired by Sunnylit Style's most recent post to do a bit of a fashion post here too (PS. she actually knows what she's doing over there with fashion:). I have a lot of clothes...lots. Unfortunately, I don't use them to their full potential and especially now that I'm down to 24 hour work weeks, only about 8 of those hours being face to face with coworkers...I'm slacking. I was actually thinking that maybe I should just bite the bullet and invest in 10 new pair of black yoga pants and sneakers cause that's basically what I've been living in:/

POINT: our boy, Homer, is now almost 9mths old. I've got this 'mom' thing down;)...so there's no more excuses. I need to get my ass styled up on a daily basis...well...at least a handful of times a week:)

and it doesn't have to be hard! Minimal effort can be made and still get me leaving the house looking even a little less frumpy!!

the following are boards that other people put together and I found through Polyvore. There are a lot of things I love about some boards and some that only have a few items/looks that I cared for. But all are just ideas to get the jeggings on me and out into the world;)

You're beautiful!
PolyvoreYou're Beautiful
Steve Madden - Troopa Boots $99.95

doing these posts is going to be a bit of a risk. Mostly, because I think I'm going to lengthen my Wants List! Each inspiration I found, only led me to more things I started thinking I wanted! Shiat!!!!

the above boots have been on my Wants List for quite some time and it was awesome to see how well they could work with my new pants too!

romwe.com

zara.com

i just love Zara!!! I don't think they ship to the United States, luckily. But Jacob and I got to go in-store when we were in Spain, which was so much fun! Hoping they do ship here, eventually...those heels alone are reason enough to save till that day!

and that blue. Yep. No real neeeeeddd for a cobalt blue blazer...but it's soooo prettyyyyyy;)

Casual outfit.

these 2 outfits should work perfectly because I already have the white sneakers to go along with them - not so much for this winter but in the Spring.

okay...this probably isn't on every one's Wants List...but just recently...I started to love the idea of some High Tops!!! eeeeeeeeee!!!!

net-a-porter.com

you're gonna want to hurt me...BUT I also have the black Converses. Oops;)

adding healthy Long Hair and adorable Leather Jacket to the Wants List:)

Sem título #21

Untitled #1016

anotherrrrrr item on the Wants List and has been for quite some time....Leopard Print Ballet Flats. Arg. I knowwww. Super trendy but just something I want in the closet. I wear a lot of plain greys and blacks. I think these would help spice things up every once in a while:)

and the pair below, from Forever21, are the amount of money you want to be spending for something you're not quite sure about yet.

             Leopard Ballet Flats $16.80

this photo just reminded me of my sister, Courts;) BUT it's also a super cute outfit too!

Relaxed School Day
School Day

i want the shirt and hair in this one:) I should mention that I also have troubles styling my hair...especially now that I chopped it off. SO I sit around most days waiting for it to be long again:)

Shopping!

shoplesnouvelles.com

2 more things to add to my Wants List: fancy shirt for work and that great jacket. This is a great work option for me. We can't wear jeans but I feel like I could get away with this. And even if I didn't get away with it...having an awkward conversation about the difference between 'jeans' and 'jeggings' with my boss could be totally worth it;)
