me and Carrie, my Cities friend:) got in line arounddddd 630p.m. Lauren was supposed to be there at 6p.m. but things were delayed and we almosssst decided to skip the whole thing all together, seeing as after this thing was over I'd have a 2.5 hour drive home!! BUT luckily we got in line...prior to getting in line we did a few things:1/ we did some walking around MOA...and I avoided most stores at all costs as to not ruin the experience for me when I'm back in 2.5 weeks and spending 48 hours IN MOA for our Annual trip:)
2/ we ate at Tucci Benucch...a great Italian Restaurant. Amazing appetizers and a glass of wine later...yum...I was ready to take on the world;)
after eating and again, walking the mall...we decided we'd stick it out and wait! After discovering that Carrie was NOT afraid of heights and I am, indeed, afraid of heights...we took my sweaty, nausea ass downstairs to find a better spot. One that made me feel better and helped Carrie to stop laughing at me!;)
luckily we did because I got this awesome video of LC coming in!!!!!
after the initial shock, cause it seriously was intense seeing her. YES. I felt pathetic feeling that way and even more ridiculous and rude filming and taking pictures of her...it was just weird. We opted NOT to chant her name (which was seriously disturbing) but later had a great discussion about what it must feel like to be that person...a person that every one's waiting for, yelling for....it's got to me insane!!!!
WAIT. Did I just describe a mom?!

even better things happened from there. YES folks...it's not over!!! While me and Carrie were waiting in line, a friend of Carrie's met us and hopped in line to wait with us. She's actually a great fan of LC's and VERY pretty....and very modest!!! While we're standing there an MTV producer comes up and asks this friend to step out of line and do an interview with MTV for LC's new Reality Show!!! WTF?!?!?!?!?
here she is giving her interview and after that they jumped her to the front of the line to see LC immediately. MEAN while the dudes that asked her to do the interview are getting awfully chummy with her. LONG story short: after me and Carrie get through the line, she decides to take advantage of the fact that her friend is single, these guys are interested and we want to get close to the ACTION!!!
carrie goes up to them and in Carrie Awesomeness Fashion, manages to get their numbers and an invite to the W Hotel (one of THE nicest, probably THE nicest in Minneapolis) where LC and the MTV crew is staying, for drinks!!!
unfortunately for me, I HAD to work today. I really had no choice. So me and my over sized - seriously, this thing was embarrassingly big and was seriously fitting...yep, go order a small drink to take with on my miserable ride home...and walk away with a HUGE pink/red smoothie...even Carrie asked if I needed help carrying it to the car;) - I headed home.
luckily Carrie kept me posted with play by plays throughout the night. ANOTHER long story short...they hung out with a few of the guys from the MTV crew till abouttttt 330a.m. and had a blast. And besides THAT being awesome, Carrie's friend and Mitch, one of the producer's SERIOUSLY hit it off.
Yes, I already told her that whether I had a hand in it...I.was.there. I MUST be invited to their wedding.
i never thought I'd be one to be 'star struck' but I was but it really was a great experience. Maybe if you're doing it with fun friends and with good intentions, it's a GREAT time:)
TID BITS:
- she is evennnn tiny-er in person, not sickly tiny...just smaller
- she's as pretty, if not prettier than she looks on TV
- she's incredibly sweet, made eye contact and small talk with EVERY one.
(I made sure to tell her how much everyone must appreciate that...it's a great attribute, sincerity....she looked at me the WHOLE.FREAKING.TIME...and I shook her hand and she said 'awwww, thank you sooo much'...and then I touched her hair - in my mind;)
- Carrie took her first shot of tequila with the MTV crew...AWESOME
- Mitch admitted to being in something that he wouldn't classify as a 'relationship', more like a 'minor distraction' as he described it:)
(Mitch BEST fall in love and marry our friend if he knows what's good for him!!!!)
- Mitch said that LC IS as cool as she seems and he's actually closer to Whitney Port. SHUT. UP.
- while they were chilling having drinks, LC was upstairs in the same hotel, IN her PJ's shooting more scenes!!!
- while they were STILL chilling and having drinks, Mitch got a text message that he kindly showed Carrie. It was a 'hey what's up' from WHITNEY PORT!!!
good times were had by all:)
