the beginning.

day one of the wedding posts and I'm MORE than excited! I guess I should introduce myself and my fiance first and tell you a little about us! We both grew up in a small town in WI. We are both 26 years of age and have known each other since middle school. Even though we do not so much believe in 'meant to be', we've heard that phrase a lot since the news of our engagement broke.

me and J dated 4 years ago, at that time we dated for 3 years. We rekindled our romance at the end of February 2009 and just got engaged on July 6, 2009! All very fast but yet all too perfect! Though some may say it's 'meant to be', we call ourselves 'lucky'. Lucky to have realized what we realized at the very same time:)

BUT people may also say it was 'meant to be' because my older sister is married to J's older brother. So that could have something to do with it;)

so now that I'm officially engaged I can print off all of those 'pretend' guest lists and put them into a REAL wedding planner! (without completely freaking J out...)

so far I have a million and one ideas! And for me the hardest part about all this wedding planning may be the fact that I have 2 flipping years to make decisions.!! Or that I love Every color and I love vintage and J loves modern and I love daisys and we have a small budget and we live in a town that offers SO few options and 9 out of 10 of our freinds have been married on the very street we live and so everything we want is much different (or so it seems) and the PRESSURE of accomplishing that...for ourselves...is somewhat high...phew....moving on....

we've set a tenative date of August 5th and 6th of 2011. The idea is to have a very small Friday night ceremony somewhat away from our home, possibly within 3 hours and then a massive, festive reception on Saturday night in our hometown.

This is all well and good but I'm amazed at the opinions and bumps that come with planning a wedding and it's been LESS than a month! I've ONLY been planning our wedding for a month and already I'm rolling into bed after 11p.m. with blood shot eyes from staring at blog after wedding blog for hours on end. Which may be part of the reason I decided to start my own!

And the other part may have to do with the fact that I love to talk and I have SO many ideas...this blog can kinda serve as my own endless wedding planner!

And if this blog in any way cuts down on the number of times I yell 'J, J...JJJJJ..come look/see/hear this pretty dress/flower/picture/hair-do/invite/cupcake holder/hanging flower lantern/vintage jar/hair piece/isle runner/wedding blog/honeymoon package/romantic song option for ceremony...' from the computer room....I think J will be MORE than thankful for the distraction and my new blog companion;)
