put it in a mason jar.

UP our wedding reception flowers:)

we had plenty of mason jars left over from the wedding. I've given several away to family but still have a few tubs of them left at home! Eeeek. I plan to hang on to them, at least until we have a bigger house and then I'll sort through whatever I can't find a place for.

but seeing as we have them now...thought I'd find some use for them! With the Baby Shower coming up...below is some perfect inspiration.

home-made chalk board.

i recently had someone inquire about how I made our chalkboards for the wedding (and since I have 10 followers...well..you know who you are;)

i'll keep this as simple as possible - as if I know any other way:)

UP/DOWN find something cute/cool/fun that you think would be even greater with the ability to write on with chalk.
In our case: old windows we found on the side of the road. In your case: could be a wall in your kitchen/child's bedroom, a cutout piece of wood, a mirror...whateva:)

clean it up. Whether this means dusting or sanding. Just get it nice and smooth:)

PS. there's that $1200 (aka. $75 couch:)

UP grab some chalk board paint from your local hardware store. THIS is the stuff I got. You can get either paint or spray. I think it's really your preference and I'm sure you'll find that paint works better for different projects (maybe larger:).

UP paint it onnnnn. der;) And follow the simple instructions on the bottle or can. It will, basically, be telling you to clean the area, paint on smoothly. Allow x number of hours to dry and repeat one or 2 more times.

UP/DOWN dryinggggg. Keep cats away:)
also...be sure to rub some chalk on the item after it's completely dried for 3 days. Rub chalk on and then wipe off. This will help to make it....I'm really not sure. BUT those are the instructions:)

below are some additional chalk board type projects we did in regards to the wedding:)

UP/DOWN here we used the spray paint. Super easy.

DOWN the kiddos had a blast with these:)

UP we used some windows as welcome signs, others for directions and more for some quotes that we had picked out:)

DOWN once they're out of our hands though...we have no control over whether they'll be used for good or evil;)

and now I feel SUPER crafty. Until next time!!!:)

our reception site.

as promised. More photos. And this post is packed full of um'!

drummmm rolllllllll: our pretty, pretty reception site:)

UP before...this may have actually been on Wednesday morning....a few days prior to the reception.

DOWN some of the cute details. Chalk board welcome sign and some directions for those in need of some assistance;)

UP those cocktail tables were one of my favorite touches. As well as the hanging flowers that were generously lent to me by my coworker! PS. check out the plywood floor. Pretty much saved the day...I was able to wear heels:)

DOWN we blew up photos of the two of us together as well as photos of us from the ceremony in La Crosse to share with our guests.

UP some tables on the dance floor. I just loved how they looked with all the white and the jars with wild flowers and small candles. It seriously couldn't have been more perfect for us:)

UP/DOWN jacob and I before our first dance. We were behind the DJ stand and it gave us a perfect view of the lights over the dance floor.

looking back on these photos...even after only being married for 11 days...makes me so sad. I know there's SO much more to come but I wish we could rewind and do it all over again. It was so us and so perfect:)
