two of the best:)

jacob and Homer: 5/8/12

jacob and Theo: 3/30/14

happy father's day to my babies daddy:)

i'm guessing someday these kids of ours will be thanking me for choosing this guy to be their dad:) I like to think this decision was a pretty easy one after growing up with my dad. From him, I learned what I wanted in a family and in a father to my children someday.

someone who makes us laugh uncontrollably. Who just wakes up wanting to take a road trip randomly:) A guy who loves spending time in a tent out West. Someone who can scare the crap out of us and trick us into falling for it over and over:) Hardworking. Proud. Smart. Handsome. Kind. All those things and more:)

i'm beyond fortunate to have my dad and Jacob in my life. It's almost unfair to have gotten this lucky twice:)

and then the boys had an epic wrestling match;)

my heart has a birthday:)

my honey. my husband. my show-pony-love...turned the big THREE-0 on July 24th:):)

i know he hasn't looked forward to the years passing over the last few years and has actually gotten a bit annoyed with it. I really hated the idea of him starting to dread his birthday!! I'm sure the majority of us would like to stop time in it's tracks...but since that shit just ain't gonna happen...we must embrace our birthdays! Celebrate them! Milk them out as long as possible;)

this year, especially being his 30th, I wanted to make it something great for him! I surprised him the morning of his birthday by telling him that I'd gotten him the day off of work...by his reaction...that would have been amazing enough;)
BUT nope. I'm pretty awesome...so I then told him to get ready cause I had gotten a sitter for the night (thanks MOM:) and we were headed to a Brewer Game with 2 of his buddies! We also met and stayed with his sister, Renee, who lives in Milwaukee!

it was an amazing time and I think he had a smile on his face for 48 hours straight!!!:)

picasion

we cooked out and had a few drinks prior to the game...we didn't have enough time to get to the stadium parking lot but were able to do a little tailgating at his sister's place:)

seeing as the game was on a Wednesday, it wasn't too packed. But we had great seats and have promised we'll make sure to find our way back to those seats for any future games! We actually had our own waitress for our section! Which made getting expensive food and drinks...too easy;)

i think we broke records with the number of selfies we (I) took! Oops;)

it got a taddddd cold out so we hit up the stadium shop for some hoodies....and now Homer may have to drive an old Astro Van to high school and get a job in order to attend college!!:/ Sorry buddy;)

since none of us are heavy drinkers...we had a super tame night of drinking. Seeing as we are ALL heavy eaters...we ended the night with full belly's of Toppers. Nom. Nom. Puke;)

happy birthday to a man that I'm insanely proud to call my own. All I wanna do is make you happy forever:)

29 years.

my better half turned 29 today!!!!:):) Exactly 4 months (and one day) behind me:). Surprisingly, he was a bit stressed about turning a year older...which I wasn't expecting from Jacob. Usually, he's cool as a cucumber. But I assured him that 29 isn't soooo bad and that he only gets better with age:)

i had to get a few photos ON Jacob's birthday. SO here we are at 630AM (Homer and I woke up at 530AM...he was a bit too excited for the day to begin;)

in the photo to the right, Jacob's laughing cause Homer's face is ridiculous!! Still cracks me up!!!:)

and again...Homer's not too enthused about mom and dad gettin' busy right above him;) BUT he better get used to it because the years ahead are only going to be filled with more hugs and kisses and impromptu slow dances in the kitchen and hand holding as they kiddo's run ahead of us...

happy birthday to the love of my life:)

for the first time:)

he went outside for the first time today. Ever.

is it okay that all these things are going to blow my mind daily?! And with mind blown situations, like these...comes tears. Lots of those have been happening as I think about all these first he's having already:')

PS. the above photo is right outside the Hospital doors and it took us aboutttttt 30 minutes to get to the car because we were stopped by so many strangers to look at Homer and tell us how cute he is and ask all those questions people ask you about your new, cute baby:)
I guess we'll have to get used to this...we were cursed with a beautiful baby;)

okay. Come on now. I should be sleeping (Mal's going to have my ass cause she just texted me to get my ass to bed and I promised her I'd get right on that - it's now 1253AM;). BUT between staring at Homer sleep and staring at photos of my husband with Homer...and then having to clean my hot mess of a face up after crying for 10 minutes...who has time for sleep!?;)
It's a vicious cycle:)

seriously though. This is one proud daddy and I have no words for what this does to my insides:) Jacob is the best thing to ever happen to me and he claims I am the best that's happened to him (silly:) and now we have the best of both of us in Homer:)

i found the song below and thought it suited our little family of 3. Take a listen:)

and oh my lord. When we got home...there was an adorable sign outside that Friend made us! SUCH a perfect homecoming! Are you dying over that sign!? HOMiE!? We've kinda been calling Homer all sorts of things...Homer. Homie. Jacob's taken a liking to Home-boy. Luke loves Smurf. SO really...whatever:)

and then inside we see the kiddos also put together a homecoming sign with their signatures and some balloons:) It was the best way to bring Homer into his new home:)

i'll leave you with a little photo of Homer sleeping...which is what I'm going to attempt in a few short minutes. PROMISE:):)

i just wanted to take the time to say that we love all your comments on the blog and Facebook and the texts and emails and visits and food and cards and presents. SERIOUSLY. We could not feel more lucky...lucky to have one another...to have Homer in our lives now and to have such amazing family and friends to be there to answer my texts at midnight about Homer spitting up. OR my texts at noon regarding my poo (thanks for being there Karey...and yes...that conversation means we are friends 4 eva now;).
And the offers to help with him or just hold him while I sleep:)

POINT: i'm sorry if I haven't gotten to respond to all of you...or any of you. Arg. BUT I'm trying really hard not to feel like I'm missing something by not checking my phone or email or being on the Internet. Just trying to concentrate on staring at Homer's face all day long:)

but know that we're so happy and a huge part of that is thanks to you guys:)

xoxo.

jacob's barcelona view.

jacob had so many good shots (and video) that I thought I'd just put a little post of his stuff first:) And besides that...I'm too hungry to be patient enough to finish this entire post. I must search for food...SOON!

UP jacob got a great video coming up the escalator!!!

UP/DOWN views from the top...Jacob had the brilliant idea to take a picture through the binocs that they had available to us:)

the park that we walked through...for hours and hours...was so beautiful. We were lucky enough to have an amazing last day in Barcelona:)

UP where the Olympics were held in 1992!

UP we were so far up while walking through the park. That building to the left of my head (your left) looks teeny and SO far away...

UP/DOWN and then when we had dinner down on the beach for dinner...you can see how huge and beautiful it was!

a fantastic day in Barcelona. I can't say that enough. Now that we're home...I guess I can't really say that it 'feels like it never happened'. It was the most amazing amount of time to spend away from home and together! It was perfect:)
