hey...we're tourists!!

this is pretty much a meaningless post but it makes me chuckle.

jacob and I had to get a large bag because we knew we'd probably end up accumulating some extra things while on this trip. It's unfortunate, because we have very nice luggage sitting at home. Frick. BUT it had to be done and we were more comfortable traveling light to get here and checking a bag on the way home only. So it just worked out this way.

we found a bag today. VERY reasonably priced (so we hope it stays together for the duration of our trip:)!!!!

we found a bag today a longgggg ways from our hotel. SO here we are...lookin' like super tourists making the longgggg and very noisyyyyyy walk back:)

it's what's up.

oddly enough...I still have a lot of things running through my mind about our honeymoon in Spain. LIKE: what will I pack, when will I pack, what will the shopping be like, will I be able to fit all the awesomeness that I find in Spain in my bag to bring home with me:) ecetera ecetera;)

and then I stumble upon this post:

why I love it:
- SO helpful when it comes time for me to pack
- everything looks SO easy
- this is EXACTLY the amount of stuff we want to be taking with us, no more!
- I LOVE her leather backpack. I want it.

i've actually been following their site for quite some time. I adore it. I adore them. AND I even emailed them with some questions regarding our own honeymoon a few months ago...and they replied. To ME...personally. MY EMAIL! And we're not just talking some standard response. They totally took the time to write this page long thing about the trip and things that could potentially help us on ours. Amazing and just kind:)

check them out. Gorgeous photography and amazing trip!

UP/DOWN this is SO totally going to be me and Jacob. I.Can't.WAIT!!!
oh, wait...my legs won't be bowed like hers. That would be Courts;)

bring on Target and a gun.

i was inspired by Lake Jane's most recent post on some B.E.A.Utiful luggage, to find some of our own. For Spain. For our closet. For sitting around the house to be tripped over between our frequent vacationing:)
The above luggage is a bit out of our price range and maybe just a litttttle too fancy for us anyways. We don't like to roll like we have money;)

but this stuff....down below...Macy's and Target....excellente for us. Right in our price ranges and STILL classy and simple but Jacob and Casey classy!
AND what's even better, they range from $50 to $360. Still a very good price for some brand new luggage!

this has also gotten me thinking about Registering. Jacob and I have decided to register. ONLY because we would love to take advantage of the 20% off that you receive the days following the wedding. ANY items still on the list are then 20% off, for X amount of days following the wedding.
SO we figured we'd register because there are things we need around the house - LIKE: matching silverware, dishware, some blankies, new garbage crap for hauling trash to the road, etc. etc. etc. SO we could really use some new things.
BUT wedding etiquette...and just our beliefs....are what helped us decide not to promote the fact that we are registered somewhere. We don't believe in expecting gifts when we're not inviting anyone to the ceremony and really...at this point we're WAY too old to ask our friends and family to buy us new sheets;)
We're not listing it anywhere and basically it's just for our benefit. So we can get a bit of a deal on the things we'd like before leaving for the honeymoon! Whoooo HOOO!
HONEYMoooooon!!!;)

Target doesn't really have much detail on that. Besides helpful hints about possibly registering 5-6 months before hand and the fact that the list is good for 90 days after the wedding. SO at this point I'm not sure what their policy is on discounted items after the wedding. I've really only 'heard' that they offer 20% off. I'm hoping this rumor is true!!!

Macy's on the other hand does point out that some of the items on your list may be 10% off for up to 90 days after the wedding. Splendid.
ah. I want new things. That's all this post is summing up to be:)

put the cards in here.

so I never thought we were super original but I do think me and Jacob have something seriously special. That's obvious;) Special is a freaking fantastic word for what we are. Special when we say something silly (aka. dumb), special when we trip, special when we look just a tad off. I like special.

BUT now we see that a lot of our 'ideas' are not soooo special. Arg. BUT I'm also trying to keep my chin up cause we live in a teeny tinnnnny community and I think we're still going to pull off original here cause no one surfs blogs the many hours daily, as I do:).

our first plan was to have our guests put their many, money filled cards;) into a hanging bird cage but that just didn't seem to fit us...maybe a little too....bird cage-y?! And so Jacob came up with the idea of having an open vintage suitcase. YES. Brilliannnnnt! I hate to admit....the idea has been done....several...several..........sevvvveral times!

But we like and we will go ahead with it. Mostly cause I just bought one at a Flea Market Saturday. $12. Nice.
