labor day weekend. literally.

although, I was scheduled to work the entire Holiday weekend AND Holiday - fracking BOO - we still managed to have a fantastic time.
Knowing that I was making a bit of money while working - not to mention the 'break' work sometimes provides me from the day in and day out of the kiddos...it was really a good weekend! And it's only Sunday morning...SO much more weekend/holiday to go:)

so here's a bit of our weekend, thus far...I figure my schedule won't really permit too much more excitement, besides the late family walk and possible bon-fire. SO leaving the phone at home till Tuesday;)

thursday night my sister, Pigg and our friend, Karey, headed to our 3rd Old Dominion show of the summer - at the Minnesota State Fair! We are officially OD Junkies! I can't get enough! They just seem like such amazing guys and SO talented, writing so many great hits and they're sound is soooo catchy. I think they are going to find so much, much deserved, success.

if you haven't already looked them up...DO - HERE.

saturday, after I put in a few early morning hours at work, we packed up and headed to the lake:) Good sandwiches and drinks and weather...it was the perfect day to let the kids run wild - and naked;) We I was so wiped out when we got home at 530PM that I could hardly keep my eyes open!

theo was lookin' so damn cute, so I got an over abundance of photos of her. Unfortunately, Homer's farrrrr too busy to be bothered with photos lately. Which is a bummer:/ But we managed to catch him running by in a couple of the shots;)

with everything that's been going on lately...it was great to feel more like myself for the afternoon. I hate falling into a 48-ish-hour funk:/ They can sometimes be hard for me to pull myself out of. BUT an afternoon at the beach remedied my mood:)

looking ahead...there are still some hurdles before I'll feel like things in our current situation - more details in a future blog post:) - are settled but Tuesday is our 4 year wedding anniversary...which is kinda blowing my mind and I've already got my mom lined up to watch the kids so we can go out to eat and walk around a furniture store, with no intention of buying anything, and take the back roads home. Dear lord...I.Can't.Wait:)

hope you're enjoying your long weekend, Friends:)

49/52.

we have a song. It is Total Eclipse of the Heart. THIS version seems to suit us pretty well but last night I discovered the version below...and then I cried...and cried;') I really wish we'd have found this song when we got married cause we didn't dance to 'our song', we picked a different one but had we known of Jill Andrew's version, I know we would have chosen that:)

last night I lost my mind got pretty upset after Jacob came home without the food...that I hadn't told him to bring home. SO yeah. And then I cried;') You'll be happy to know that I did apologize and I did so while...you guessed it...crying!!!

this pregnancy has made me a tadddddd irrational - more so than usual;) I don't want to be the thing that makes any of Jacob's day's harder. Most days I don't think I am...but some days...I totally am;) Working on that.

i have a good man on my hands.

a life that's good.

i've been a faithful Nashville fan since day one. Love it:)

since hearing this song...I've listened to it many, many times. It makes me cry every time. EVERY.TIME:')

a beautiful reminder of all that I have.

i know that sometimes I wake up not feeling the best. About myself. About that couch that I still don't have. About this house that needs to be fully remodeled yet. The low paying job that takes me away from Homer and my family. I can think of a million things that bring me down...a million things that mean nothing compared to all the good that's come to me:)

going to bed tonight...knowing that the things that make my world a better one...are going to sleep safely in their own beds too:)

26/52.

love this song. After only one listen:) Thanks to ohdeardrea for helping me discover it (and check out that girls' B.E.A.U.Tiiiiiful wedding phones. Swoon:).

jacob looked through her photos with me and something about looking at wedding photos got us thinking about our own wedding;) I loved everything about that day. And we know we'll be renewing our vows at some point. Is our 2 year anniversary too soon!? Yeah? Really? ;)

if you're in need of a kinda-slow dance:)

BACK STORY: jacob and I have lots of disgustingly adorable things we do for each other, as a way to remind the other how much we love them. Yep. Que vomit;) But that's something that's super important to us...to never forget how lucky we are to have one another.

back in the day...when we first dated right out of high school...we would always have the radio tuned to some oldies at night as background sleep noise and sometimes when a great slow song came on...we'd get out of bed and have ourselves a little dance:)
It's something we still randomly do.

we both really love music and I would say that our radio is on MUCH more than our 12 channel TV ever is. Which I love:) And today Jacob was reminded of this song that he really liked and decided that would be our next dance:)
i think the 'mama' reference in the song got him to thinking about me being a mom and still his sexy wife. Not so much the lady dancers in the video;)

SO if you can overlook the fact that this may be a completely slutty song, which was not what Jacob was intending to mean by choosing it...it works perfectly;)
