homer goes boo:)

we celebrated our 2nd Halloween with Homer:) Whoever said Halloween was more fun with kids...wait...did anyone ever say that??? They were lying directly to my face;)

maybe Halloween in Cali is more fun...warm weather...but here in WI it was a bit cold. Foggy streets, littered with small children jacked up on candy. Good times;) And our little Homer already seems to have a pretty intense addiction for all things sugar. SOOOOO Halloween...um...at least he looked ridiculously adorable?!;)

i'm actually looking forward to the coming years...when he's more interested in pumpkin patches and carving/decorating pumpkins:)

in case you haven't already put it together...we are a family interested in all things Star Wars. That's my husband's doing:) And so, it was obvious that Homer would be a Star Wars character...we settled on the Ewok:)

SIDE NOTE: i purchased his costume online from Target. It was on sale and with my Target Red Card (the one where it comes directly out of your checking...I can NOT be trusted with a 'credit card') I get Free Shipping and 5% off...so it was about $20 when all was said and done. We plan to save ALL costumes and try to pick some super cheapies up at garage sales next year cause as more kids come into the picture...we'll find ourselves wanting to spend $20 per costume...never.;)

a few nights later the ladies and myself got dressed up for our Halloween themed Wine Night:) Fun was had...too much food was also had;)

i tried a new appetizer, above - found here - and I think it was a hit!

and then because he's too cute...some extra photos of Homer in more of his Star Wars gear:):) And WAY too distracted by his little bag of treats to give mom the time of day;)

and check out that maneeeeeee! Whooooo Weeeee! We're starting to get to the point where I for surely need to invest in some detangler. And we mayyyy be considering a cut. Although, we're still pretty content with waiting things out till he's at least two. We shall see!:)

halloween was a success and I decided I'd count it as a success if Homer kept his costume on at least 60% of the time. SO...SUCCESS!!!:)

and to think...next year we'll have 2 kiddos to find Star Wars costumes for:)

here's a few things we've been up to lately. Makes me feel like maybe we have been doing someeee fun stuff while on my maternity leave...I only say that cause we had plans to do a bit more but catering has picked up for Jacob and so the weekends have filled up fast with work. SO home we stay. BUT we're making the best of it!:)

recently we had a Wine Night. A first for Homie...outside the belly:) As you can see...he was less than impressed;)

jacob, me and Homer took our first road trip as a family to LaCrosse!!! It went SO well. It was a super quick trip and we hope to go back yet this summer when we have a bit more time. I think we were there for a total of 4 hours this time! But we accomplished what we wanted in that time!!

we went down to the river and sat for a while and just enjoyed the weather and day:)

as you may all remember, Jacob and I were married in LaCrosse last year (September 8, 2011:). I have our wedding date tattoo'd on my right forearm. I added Homer's date of birth while we were down there and plan to do the same for any future babies:)

we also got to meet up with Jacob's sister, Renee, and her friend Lore, who happened to be in LaCrosse that same day:) SO we had a quick snack and visit and Homer had another first...his first afternoon in a bar;)

below are a few things we've learned about Homer over the last month:

he hates anything cold: water. wipes. baths;)

blue is his color:)

he looks freaking hilarious in the slippers Aunt Mal Mal got him!!!!

andddd he's pretty much the most handsome boy in the whole world:)

and then there's Jax-Man...

and Lukey! Who I get to see most morning's of my maternity leave...for a cup of coffee:)

a tip for all you out there thinking of getting yourselves knocked up...plan for May Babies...this weather, this time of year...so so perfect:)

we just took a recent trip to MOA to get some last minute wedding things, as well as a bit of shopping. Let me tell you. MOA is NOT the place to go when you have 6 hours. That is not enough time for even the most seasoned shopper:( It was rushed...but fun regardless. Always counting down the days till MOA:)

friday night we had a little Wine Night! OR 'Wine Night Bitchessss' as I like to refer to it as:)

as always, a great turn out and tons of laughs. We've also discovered a great way to talk shit and not feel bad about it. It's called the Cone Of Trust. Anything can be said within...the Cone...and you will not be judged. I LOVE IT!!;)

And as you can imagine...no one wanted to be the first to leave the party, for fear that the Cone of Trust would be used against them;)
