tights of all sorts.

this adorably vintage, care-free wedding is courtesy of Green Wedding Shoes.
and what I like about it:

UP i love their look. The look in the picture and just how they look together. BUT also loving her shoes!!

DOWN how cute are those maid colors together?! I just think it, first and foremost, shoes how anything goes! And those flowers are exactly as I'd like mine to look.

UP and again...more tights. And with yellow and blue...tights work with EVERYTHING!!!
Ladies: shall we throw around the idea of you guys wearing your tights on Thurs. night too?! Too much!!?!?

press and seal your pretties.

this struck a cord with me because I actually used to pick flowers when I stayed at my Grammy B's and put them in a little journal and I just loved the pressed flowers. Preserving them. I think at the time I thought I was onto something, like somehow I could make a living putting pretty little flowers in journals and having them come out flat and still pretty:) Ah, the good old days:)

i know that the point of the post on So Happi Together is more geared towards those brides that are investing thousands of dollars on real flowers and bouquets that were put together by a professional. But even though I'm going to a farmer's market and the TOTAL amount that I'll be spending on flowers for my entire wedding (bouquets, decor, etc.) will be aroundddd $100 or less, I'd still love to have something different on the wall, something more unique than a photo of me just holding my bouquet. How about a 'real' part of my bouquet....

and maybe even throw some candid shots of me and the girls at the farmer's market buying the flowers...Courts has the best handwriting..she could make the flower tags...
Just another of a million ideas I have but this could keep me busy during that month between the wedding (boo...it's over) and the honeymoon (YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!).

near perfection.

this wedding on Style Me Pretty (my Go-To wedding blog:) has exactly what I'm hoping for. Have I said that before?! Have I said "have I said that before" before?~?!

sorry again and again about the repetitiveness but this wedding has some details that I hope to replicate at our wedding...IN 9 MONTHS:)

the bride's dress above is gorgeous. I hope that my dress, which reminds me of something similar to hers. It surely doesn't look the same but the cut and the fit and the flow...that reminds me of what I see for my dress. It's absolutely simple in an incredibly unique way.

the flowers are are also exactly as we hope for ours. This summer when we went to the Farmer's Market and ended up with twenty-some jars in our house filled with wild flowers....it looked identical to what this wedding has going for it.

ahglhalgkhalgkal = me getting super excited that what we're envisioning is starting to feel less and less like a hot mess and more and more like it's working!!

her hair. Need I say more!? I love that style. Hmmm...inspiration for my next post...coming up:)

that's where it's at. heart.

yep. You must check out I Love You Much. A great blog and the pictures, taken by Our Labor of Love. They're remarkable and exactly what I always envisioned for our day:)
a bit washed out...mostly faces from a far and covered up with over-sized anythings!!!
the above picture gets me SO freaking amped up for our day. We are being married in a small art gallery and no, it doesn't have those amazing floor to ceiling windows and no, it doesn't have seriously amazing huge black walls. BUT what it does have is an exposed brick wall and white walls with beautiful art work AND hardwood floors. NICE. And some very cool round topped (technical term, I'm sure:) vintage windows that look like they were ordered and installed JUST for our day!!!
pretty, pretty, pretty. I've never had the yearning to be married in a church. Not now, not ever. There IS a very beautiful, teeny Methodist church and I would have liked to do that IF I had chosen a boy that likes the church deal. I chose the opposite of that situation...which is fine by me. Even though I'm not the religious type either, I do believe in more than Jacob...but I think he becomes more of a believer in something every day because of yours truly:).
As vomit-inducing as this may sound...I plan on spending eternity with Jacob, this life time and any to follow. And I know he's hoping for the same:)
i'm sure he'll be glad all the wedding talk is behind us by lifetime #4;)
i wanted to focus on the flowers in these 2 pictures and OF COURSE they get cut off. BUT they're soooo pretty and so relaxed. Effortless. Thank you...I thought of that word all on my own. They look like the exact look I want and that's effortless!

my BIG goal is to make sure that we get just a bit of time with Courts so that she can take pictures of us too. Although I trust that our photographer will do an amazing job, I see Courts (and mom:) getting some of these, potentially, perfect shots. And I call them perfect cause they know me and Jacob and they know when we're being 'us' and I want that preserved:)

hoooooolllyyyyy MOLEY! 365 days TO.GO.

i'm going to JUMP right into this....1 year. ONE FREAKING YEAR and I'll be getting married. And actually...in one year...I will have been married for abouttttt 3 hours. HOW THE SHIATTTT?!?! I'm seriously beyond words right now.....I've got nothing.....

okay. I'm over that;) I just can't believe it. I'm happy and emotional and I think the last 14 months of engagement have been amazing (minus that crazy fight we had 2 days ago...I blame it on me having a period...not that day...but in general:). But for some reason today, being that it's one year away...it seems for real. Like NOW we're really counting down. Now we're really doing this.

i've said it before and I'll say it again and again and again. I'm the luckiest girl. Hands down. Initially we were both hesitant to get back together in February of 2009 but Jacob said when we first sat down together to eat out and 'talk'...he knew that he was ready for whatever was to come. Even me and all my crazy:) And believe me, that was a huge leap of faith on both our parts because round one was not all rainbows and adorable mini animals. It was a lot of BIG break downs and worse...weight gain due to drinkkkkinnnnnggg! AhhhhH!!!!;)
But (cue the huge smile and tears for me while I type) for some crazy reason things worked this time. Not only did they work but this life of mine...this life I have with Jacob...it's a dream come true.

and although we both agree that we feel connected, linked for life already. In 365 days I'll be staring at him and promising to be his partner in crime as long as I'm allowed.

besides loving Jacob....I got a lot more accomplished today. It was one of those days where NOTHING was going to slow me down (except that 2.5 hour nap:).

i was up at 715am and me and Mom were on the road with T and Nash by 830am to hit up a Farmer's Market in a neighboring town. It turned out to be VERY successful. For a mere $30, I was able to fill EVERY jar and bottle that occupied the basement!
It's basically an array of different flowers but I really do love the way it turned out. They don't look too 'planty'...just really thrown together and wild flower-ish. I am happy with what I see. And even better, the house is one big flower pit and will be till Saturday. The experiment will only be successful if these flowers still look good in 2 days (the test is to make sure that when we buy the flowers next year on the Wed. before the wedding, that they'll live till Sat. of the reception:).

i'll fill you in on Saturday.

operation: flowers.

i'm sure I've mentioned before that the whole 'making mom grow me millions of wild flowers for the wedding' is not panning out to be millions. ONLY cause it's just Harrrrrdddd. *cue the fists on hips, puppy dog lip*.

so our back up plan is to run to a local farmer's market - and by local I mean I'll be dragging one lucky sister and a very lucky mom out of bed at 7a.m. so we can drive an hour the day before the wedding to look at flowers. Love me?!
But me and Jacob do plan on doing some research this year so that when we go next year...I have the list of flower names and we'll just be handing out a name to each person with me and then - all hands in - GO!

i hope our flower shopping experience is as adorable as Ben Blood makes it look in the photos below.

a good feeling.

beautiful wedding. I'm not overly in love with anything but I love the simplicity. It just has a great flow...nice vibe...just feels right!
Mom: does he NOT look eerily like Uncle Dave?
my pretty wild flowers and oh, do I love lace.
i would LOVE for the weather to be nice enough at our reception (in early September) for people to be chilling on blankets outside.
just when I write off the idea of fluffy hanging things and Chinese lanterns...this happens. I want it.
this cake looks like it was created specifically with me in mind. Grapes...are you kidding me?! I love them...so, so, very much.

farmer's market pretties.

my dream was for us to grow our own wild flowers. Unfortunately it's not coming along very well. On the plus side we do have TONS of time yet and it still may turn around for us. BUT as a back up, I've googled some Farmer's Markets in the La Crosse area...where we'll be getting married on a Thursday...so that we can get down there and buy up some flowers prior to the wedding if we have to!!!

i can only hope they look VERY similar to this:

do it yourself pretties.

something that always gets me excited is the idea of this wedding coming out exactly as planned. Looking like US!:) And all those little things are going to be what I think we love most in the end. Especially the thought that we put together all the bouquets. Even if the 'growing them' thing doesn't work out and we have to hit up a Farmer's Market the night before!!
Jacob making us a little cake, one to save so that we can break it out the night of our one year anniversary and eat it with milk while catching up on episodes of Dexter:)
have I mentioned lately how much I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams?! PS. That's YOU Jacob!!!!;)

diy-ing, in every sense of the phrase.

all photos via Style Me Pretty - Photography by Davina + Daniel

here's some seriously ridiculous details and besides quitting my job and recruiting the entire family...even the family of family...and their neighbors kids....I would not be able to accomplish all the details I'd like to incorporate into our wedding day and reception.
I'll have to settle for drooling over these and convincing myself that I will indeed make it ALL happen, if only to sleep at night, knowing that I'm closer to a good cry than I am to making truffle for the wedding.

the chalk board idea - check. This is completely doable.

vintage plates - Are you kidding me?! I have no use for these in any part of my wedding but I will now force Jacob to stay up an extra hour tonight while I come up with any reason to get these plates. Even if it means setting up a lonely card table in one corner just to set them on for show.

wild flowers - check. This is done.

trifle - I must have a friend out there...a friend of a friend...that can make 2 of these for the wedding. AND our guests will need glass vintage plates to eat it on, of course. On it.

my homegrown pretties.

i am not going to lie. I LOVE this flower arrangement. It was completely DIY (do-it-yourself) and I feel this is something me and mom can get done ourselves too!
Crossing our fingers we're able to grow something and keep it alive.
