week 14:)

i'm prettyyyyyy stoked.happy.giddy.OVER THE MOON excited to be starting these posts again!!! Yep. I can hardly believe that we're here...starting over again...another baby. TWO. Makes me SO happy to know we're adding to our family. Makes me SO sad to know that that means Homer is growing older with each minute - shit. that may also mean that I'm growing older with each minute...lets not go there;). 

this time around time has gotten away from me! Could be that I'm chasing around a 16 month old in my downtime. Not leaving a whole lot of time to run around taking photos and notes on this pregnancy. BUT trying to stay on top of things as best I can:) 

regardless...this pregnancy already seems to be flying! From the day I found out I was pregnant - I took a positive pregnancy test at about 3AM in a gas station bathroom just a few hours North of Atlanta, GA!! We were on our way to visit friends in GA and attend a wedding in FL:) PS. I kept it from Jacob for abouttttt 10 days?! I wanted to surprise him with the news on his 30th Birthday. Believe me...it was worth the wait. Remember how it was the BEST Birthday he'd EVER had?!?! Yeah. That may have had something to do with it;) - and now here we are...over 10 weeks later! 

due date March 28th...although, I think it's closer to March 25th...but we'll find out a more definite date come November when I have my big ultrasound.

ALSO. My bestie pointed out that this is a pretty interesting date for my 2nd child to enter the world. 

- the baby could come on MY birthday - March 23rd - and we all know that MY birthday is like...my most favorite and selfish day of the year. Can I share? Am I willing to share?;)

- the baby could arrive on Easter - see HERE my history with Easter;). And Easter can go to hell. So there's that.;)

boy or girl right now both Jacob and I feel it's a boy. I felt the exact same way with Homer. It's not because we already have a boy. It's not because I want it to beeee a boy - I'm SO okay with either:) I just feel like it's a boy. SO there;)

also...we won't be finding out the sex of the baby this time around either!:)

names we've still got our same list as last time. Some have moved up on the list. Some have moved down. Some have come off all together. Here are 2:

Ruby - awwwwww. This makes me sad. This was our ALL time favorite girl name. Like tip top. Loveeeeed. And then we just felt like we were hearing it a lot. Maybe it just became different over time. And then we adopted our little dog, Rudy. And that pretty much put the final nail in the coffin;)

Erro - as in Arrow. The ones you shoot with a bow and arrowwwww. Yep. My super sweet husband came home with that one. And I smiled and nodded as I pretended to add that crazy to the list;)

belly not sure if there's a belly really...I mean...something's brewing but so far...softness and definitely to the point where I just feel a bit bloated most of the time. I look forward to a 'real' belly:)

weight um. Whyyyyy must it always come down to the weighttttt!?!?!?;) 

I started this pregnancy a bit lighter. 135lbs. Which was great. Gave me a head start, which I needed;) I thinkkkk I'm at about 146lbs. About 2lbs lighter than I was with Homer around this time. That's a win in my book:)

current weight: 146lbs

total weight gain: 11lbs

wardrobe since I was pregnant with Homer around this time of year I haven't needed to add a lot to the wardrobe. I did change jobs recently, which involved adding some scrubs to my wardrobe. But I think this will work to my advantage as I get larger:)

Courts and I took a recent kids-free trip to Target and I purchased the denim top I'm wearing in these photos. I surely don't need to be wearing this maternity top yet but wanted to have a 1st photo in it and then come week39 I'll jump in it again to blow your minds with my physical transformation;)

baby buys i mayyyy have grabbed a few things for this baby already! I can't help myself:):) I got the quirky onsie below at H&M while Jacob and I were on our Anniversary Overnighter:) And THIS adorable outfit was actually for my friend, Karey, who was supposedddddd to be having a boy but found out she is having a GIRL!!!!! SO excited for her and so excited to add that little outfit to my 'boy bin'. And, apparently, I have the worst instincts...ever...cause I seriously thought she was gonna have a boy!!!;)

and then there's my first. The one that is guilty of starting it all:) These are quite possibly my new FAVORITE photos of the 2 of us! If I had to describe Homer to someone...I would show them the 3 images above:)

i can't wait for Homer to be a big brother. I can't wait to be spending my days with Jacob and our TWO children. Homer's made me love being a mom more than anything and I am so happy that we're able to add more babies to our family to love:)

Then we'll take another photo sitting in the same spot showing off our largeeee 36 to 39 week bellies and thennnnnn when those precious little babies come screaminggggg out are delivered by storks;) we'll take a photo in the same spot for a 3rd time but holding our new baby:)

week 27:)

sometimes 27 weeks just does NOT feel very far along. But then there will be 30 weeks. That feels far along;)

broken record about to happen: this pregnancy, like Homer's, has been going so smoothly. We're very fortunate for that. I'm lazy and tired and semi-psychotic while pregnant (and possibly w/out a baby in me;) anyway and so if I was reallyyyyyy having a difficult pregnancy...lives would be lost;)

jacob and I have been having more conversations lately about how quickly this pregnancy is going. And how with Homer around...there hasn't been quite as much time to dwell on it. It's kinda just been happening while we were doing other things. And that's not a bad thing. It's given us lots of time to get in as many cuddles as possible with Homer. He's fallen asleep in my arms more times than I can count over the last month and I'm so grateful for that. In less than 90 days he won't be the 'baby' anymore. *ugly cry*

my mind changes on this constantly! My youngest sister, Mal, just found out she's having her 3rd boy. I was POSITIVE she was having a girl. I was also positive about a boy guess on a friend prior to her (who found out she's having a girl!!!). So yeah. My track record ain't good;)

a recent suggestion from Friend was Chevy. As in, Chevy Chase. I love the reference cause it makes me think of my fav Christmas movie, Christmas Vacation:) But I doubt Chevy will make the short list;) 

belly 

i've now decided that no pen is worth having to pick it up off the floor after dropping. Bending sucks;)

weight 

since my last update I've indulged in the.most.food.evaaaaaaaaaa! EVA!!!! SO yeah. There's that. I'm guesstimating I'm coming in at abouttttttt:

current weight: 168lbs

total weight gain: 31lbs

i was hoping to stay at that 1lb per week of my pregnancy (only gaining 40 total pounds in the end)...but we're almosttttt at 28WKS and I'm at 31LBS of weight gain. I'm passing the weeks up;)

wardrobe

i feel best when bra and pantless. The end;)

BUT I did just recently discover a pair of nice long, normal looking, jeans in my pile that I can button and they look great (actually wearing them in these photos). And they're not completely uncomfortable. SO that is a happy day for my bod;)

baby buys 

there haven't been any new baby purchases! This is kinda shocking. But that won't last long. I got a great Target GC for Christmas and I will put $20 towards something adorable for the baby;)

pregnancy and babies and the future have been a hot topic for me and Jacob recently. Especially with the wedding only 437 days away;) It's something we can't come to a solid decision on and god only knows how we'll be feeling in 437 days! But after looking at these adoooooorable outfits - below - I was inspired to look up some pregnancy fashion. Yep. IF I were to have a baby or babIES.....this site would be wonderful help. And not just for what to wear and what not to wear but advice anddddd....other baby stuff. It would be a great learning tool!

week23:) - #smithbabythree

somewhere in there, I lost a week! I haven't taken photos since Week20 and I've been trying to do them every 2 weeks...I'm sure you all survived but what happened at Week22?!?!?!? - hi. Pregnancy Brain. Nice to meet you...again;)

things have been so good here. SO SO busy. I think? But we're plugging away and I feel great and the kids have been at a super high level of adorableness over the last few weeks - plus a lot of sass and fits and the pooping in all of the cloth diapers...all that good stuff;). Jacob'ssssss hanging in there;) We have a few friends and family that will be in town over the weekend and therefore, in and out at our home...and so I'm all: EVERYTHING THAT ISN'T DONE, THAT SHOULD BE DONE...MUST BE DONE. THIS WEEK. NOWWWW. And when you live in a fixer-upper...that ain't a short list:/ So we've been busting ass to get a few things crossed off the list that no one that actually visits our home will be aware of. You're welcome;)

where was I?! Oh, yeah...we're pregnant. 23 weeks pregnant and happy and feeling good and excited and I've been crying a lot. So there's that. Just happy tears. Content tears. And also big decision tears. Wanting to sell it all and live the way I feel like we should be living and are not living. So yeah. Lots of conversations and budgets and thoughts on where to go from here:) But all good things, really:) 

And staring at the kids and wondering where the time has gone and how we got to a place we never imagined we'd be. A very good place. A place that includes babies that mean more than the world to us. So many moments in the day spent watching Homer and Theo do random things and those glances that Jacob and I give each other...a smile that says so much more: how-did-he-get-here, she's-so-perfect, i-love-him-the-most-ever, i-love-you-for-doing-this-with-me glances.

boom. Happening:) - it's continuing to happen! APPARENTLY I'M PREGNANT!!!;)

some moments I feel huge and some, light as a feather...and then I get on the scale and dear lord!!!! I'm still doing some pretty consistent damage...

start weight: 136lbs

current weight: 158lbs (that's a guess...I don't have an appt. for another week or so:)

total weight gain: 22lbs

*for reference...I've gained a solid 55lbs with both of my previous pregnancies - pausing for gasps;) - so it's probably a good thing my start weight is a bit lower*

budget. budget. budddd-puke. So yeah, no purchases recently. BOO!

23 weeks pregnant with THEO. i've embraced weight-gain at this point;)

and 23 weeks pregnant for a 3rd time. I can hardly believe I've been given the opportunity to do this, even 3 times. I love to do this:)

week 30:)

i had my 30 week appointment 2 days ago. And for the 2nd time...I opted not to register at the Hospital. ARG. My energy level is pathetic as of late! Next time...promise:) 

as always and thankfully, everything checked out great! The baby's heart rate is normally in the higher 150's but the last few times has been in the 140's and I've had headaches for the last week straight! Signs of a girl?! Hmmmm:) 10 more weeks to cast your vote!

otherwise things have been pretty uneventful! I've been a tad stressed with the houses and finances and renters and such extra things that come with the New Year and tying up loose ends. But trying to believe that everything will fall together perfectly (and ideally before this child is born:) and just enjoy the last few weeks of this pregnancy!:)

we've got about 4 names that we feel fairly confident with at the moment. 2 boys. 2 girls. We're still trying to figure out some middle names for the girl names but I love this part, so not feeling much pressure yet:)

i'm actually surprised and happy to report that I only gained 3lbs since 27wks. I was expecting to be more with having just wrapped up the Holidays! I'll take it. I believe it's a bittttt heavier than I was with Homer at this point but only by a pound or 2. And because we're currently trying to stick to a pretty strict budget...which means no fast food (boooo. wahhhhhh. irrational-overweight pregnant chick stomping feet!!!!!;)...I'm actually hoping to stay at 171 for the next 2 weeks - a girl can dream:)

current weight: 171lbs

total weight gain: 34lbs

wardrobe

i hadn't realized it but I may be reaching for this shirt pretty often. See my 27wk bump post! Oops;) But whatever works at this point. Every thing's tight. Every thing's somewhat uncomfortable. I refuse to invest in anything more:)

baby buys 

speaking of wardrobe...this counts as a baby buy: tighty pants - the photos are horrendous and I swear they make you super slim and sexy;) They are pretty much amazing and maternity or not...I'm heading back for a pair in XS to wear after baby - XS because I assume I will leave the hospital without the ass I bring in;)

also - this will be a tad more exciting for me than you;) - I will OFFICIALLY be on Maternity Leave in 65 days and only about 32 of those days are working days!!! March 21st will be my last full day at the Clinic during this pregnancy!

as I was thinking about how I'd like things to play out this time around with my time off...I remembered wanting to MURDER each and every person that said "still pregnant!!!??" as I walked in the door the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy with Homer. As hilarious as this is to everyone else...as the one carrying the extra 50lbs and not having slept in 2 weeks and then having to deal with other people's problems all day...it was a bit less amusing!!;)

SO I'm taking off the week of my due date. Just taking Vacation until the baby comes and then I will be taking 8wks off from the time the baby arrives:) SO I will/should be off from March 21st through May 26th:)

i'm dancing. dancing and crying. dancing and crying and being very pregnant. VISUALIZE!!!!;)

week16.

well, howdy...16 weeks was all it took to pop:) Apparently, 3rd pregnancies make themselves known a bit earlier!!

most days I'm all: onlyyyyyyyy 16 weeks!? *Draggggingggg feeettttt*

and then the next minute I'm all: SIXTEEN WEEKS!?!? That's 4 weeks shy of 1/2 way and then I passed the hospital today leaving my appt. and guess what?! I have to BIRTH THIS THING!!!!!!

besides all that. I'm feeling phenomenal...so so lucky that things are once again, going so smoothly:) Seems to be another typical Smith Pregnancy:) My only complaint at the moment would be that both my husband and mother declined to run to the grocery store at 1013PM to get me grapes. Which seems downright AWFUL of them;/

as of week 15...we have a belly!!!:) I think I can still disguise it under loose fitting tops but now that it's not leaving...I like to put on fitted tops to put it out there;) I love finally have a belly and having a belly finally makes me feel a tad more pregnant:)

slowly but surely, I'm packing on the pounds. Even with a warmer weather pregnancy...I've not been able to slow my normal weight gain. Oops;)

no new baby purchases...besides a girly onsie at a garage sale a few weeks back? I'm hoping to find 1 cute boy and 1 cute girl outfit option to bring the baby home in...but we've got time and we recently had some windows installed in the house...so purchases in general have been put on hold for the time being. NO FUN...although, being able to open a window for the first time in over 2 years is pretty fun;)

 

 

i don't have any intention of keeping up with these updates every week...but I plan to do my best to fancy myself up at least once every few weeks to give you the low down on how things are going! Thanks for checking in!:)

week30:) - #smithbabythree

today. What can I sayyyyyy about today??? What can I say abouttttttt today that doesn't involve all the F-WORDS that there ever were?!??! 

homer had a dentist appointment early this morning. He is going to be in need of a few fillings and potentially one or 2 crowns - good lord...so I guess we should cut him off of his daily bag of gummy worms?!?;) DAMN, so disappointed/sad/scared/annoyed/overwhelmed that he'll have to be put under with anesthesia twice before he's even 3-1/2.

I also decided to take Theo...cause...well, I like to set myself up for complete fucking disaster. I'm not going to even try to describe to you what a shit show that was because I'm, honestly, not ready to relive that. 

i just deleted a few paragraphs outlining our terrible morning but I'm over it. SO I'll spare you:)

we heard the babies heart beat - had our 30WK appt. after Homer's dentist appt.:). And the kids were quiet. And then we were all good:)

the kids cried at the dentist.

i cried to Jacob over the phone...in the dentist parking lot.

i cried leaving the hospital...because I registered for the birth of our 3rd baby. I can't even right now:'(

i looked up Homer and Theo's heartbeats from their pregnancies and that was the least amount of help ever! My babies go from 137-166 the entire 40WKS!!! That old wives' tale about the heartbeat being lower for a boy and higher for a girl has not helped with this pregnancy either;)

i was too distracted by my awful children to be too anxious about today's weigh-in. But thankfully, I came in right where I wanted to - I just wanted to come in at 170 or less!:)

i have a love/hate relationship with dresses and maxi-skirts during my pregnancies:/ I want them to work but sometimes feel like they make me look bigger than I am. I'd love to go find oneeeee more summer dress to get me through September:) or even some shorts...not that there will be much warm weather to come here in WI:( For my first warm weather/summer pregnancy, I feel like we did pretty good making what I already had in the closet work:)

still nada. Booooo hoooo:( I feel a solo trip to Target or TJMaxx...or ANYWHERE coming on soon...so I may break the budget with something small and baby-related real soon!

this last photo was the only from today with me smiling. And even Courts had to remind me to smile. Some days are so hard - that's putting it insanely simply - but my belief that these kiddos and all those to come are supposed to be...that this is the road we're supposed to be on?! That belief has never faltered. I know this is it. I know I'll never be luckier than these days with them and Jacob. Creating and raising this family. 

with that said...I do question my sanity;)
